Hi,

Playing late last night on guk server I got about 6 skills advancement choices one after the other.

I didn't think it odd being fairly new (about a monthish) to EQ2 so selected my options and gained 3 extra sinister strikes on top of the 3 I already had.

I now can't seem to use the old ones (gnoll, skeleton, centaur) ... they were different choices to the new ones (orc, zombie, giant)- obviously you don't want two sinister strikes the same so I picked a different set than the old ones ... has something gone wrong .... is this sounding like a bug?

Advice welcome.

There should be different button for each skill you picked... I say check out your spell book.

The original 3 sinister strikes have disappeard from my knowledge book ... ... I would not have chosen different if I had known ... but then is this usual to get so many at once!! ???

Actually it sounds like you used respec or you got respeced or something like that... You shouldn't be asked to make 6 racial/master choices back to back unless this happened. And if you did use respec then yes your older spells you had are gone and got replaced by new ones.

But I didn't! ... I mean I don't know how to ... I want it back the way it was '( blahhhhh ...

Actually can I set them back or can you tell me how I did what I did so I don't do it again!?

I don't know how long you've been playing eq2 so I don't know what kind of veteran rewards you have... I think one of reward is respec potion. You can check what you can get by doing /claim in game.

A reforming stone ... so that was what that did .. ack! It came with the fireworks ... which is what I wanted ... I didn't know that was what that was!

is it possible to claim that on another char and pass it back to this toon?

No, don't believe the stones are tradeable. However, you can try typing -- /respec to choose the special traits again.

I do not remember seeing a confirmation message after typing /respec - so be absolutely sure you want to reset everything before typing the command.

Hmm .. not sure .. but many thanks for advice and help, sincerely appreciated. Maybe the accidental respec will work for the better ... I here there be Orcs awaiting me in Zek when I reach about 30 ...

I'll wait awile and see how things go ... am worried that the /respec is a one time ... otherwise it'd be a popular command!

<curtseys>

:smileyvery-happy:

I did not know you could do the /respec command! I was able to get rid of a skill I wish I had not taken. Thanks for the thread!

However, in regards to critter combats... don't really worry about which critter you take. From what I can tell you can face everything at some point.

Mastery strikes are nice, but they're not going to make or break your game. I'm sure we'll get another /respec sometime not too incredibly far in the future as well, so I wouldn't worry about it.
