I am trying to activate the move Cold Throw. I have throwing axes equipped in the ranged slot, I have a bandolier (spelling?), yet, when I try to use this move it tells me I need a throwing weapon. I have tried all sorts of permutations with the axes and the bag without success,,,can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong please? Thank you.<div></div>

<P>mmmm sounds odd, bandolier in ranged and throwing axes in ammo pouch in ammo slot or on their own in ammo slot should then work if you click on skill. </P> <P>If this doesnt, you may have to /bug</P>

<div></div>So yesterday, i was playing my 22swashy and re-discovered the cold-throw or whatever it is abillity. However, I cannot find anything to throw. I have checked the brokers and found some axes (5) and they work, but thats all there were. There were tonnes of knives etc but were all level 60, which is funny because I told it to only check from lv 0-22. Will these lv 60 knives work with me? If not, where else can i go to purchase thowing items?ThanksTook a'Toke22 Swashbuckler, Willow WoodGuk Server<div></div><p>Message Edited by 'Ornsby on <span class=date_text>06-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:02 PM</span>

You won't find much player made throwing weapons of any type around. These items do not have any displayed stats, so no one is 100% certain whether or not rare T7 throwing ammo is actually any better than the T1 stuff you can buy from the merchant. There have been a few threads around where people claim that their parses support one theory or another about the effects of using different grades of ammo, but nothing conclusive.<div></div>

Throwing Auto Attack damage is based on the teir of the weapon ammo (as well as your throwing satchel of course). This is very easy to test if you are level 70. Go buy some tin stars and some adamantine stars. The tin stars hit for 1-15 damage, and the adamantine will hit for 100-300 damage. I'm not sure how conclusive it needs to be, but thats pretty conclusive to me. However, throwing weapon ammo is not a factor when CA damage is calculated, so you will get full damage from Cold Throw and Hail of Steel with tin ammo. It only effects auto attack. <div></div>

Basically, in summary, just buy the level 10 crap unless you're (a) on the PvP server or (b) on one of the few raids where you spend significant time chucking things at range.<div></div>

It appears broken to me, at least in my configuration of crafted cuirboulli pouch & ammo in a stonehide sack.<BR>

Yup for throwing weapons, the Bandolier is the actual weapon (the 'bow') and the sack holds the ammo like a quiver and goes in the ammo slot. If this is how you have it set up, then maybe you have the wrong type of ranged ammo for your throwing weapon. It gets confusing telling which ammo is for which based on names.

<DIV>I saw someone else posting about pretty much exactly same issues on another part of forum yesterday, althou it was a brigand in that case I belive, I havent had any issue with thrown on either my swashie or monk, they are both lvl 70 and lvl 60 tho, possible there might be some hiccup due to the tradeskill revamp in some tiers?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit: btw, ye can use any sort of thrown ammo to any sort of thrown weapon nowdays, dun remember exactly when it was they changed it, it will just automatically use the first available ammo like it works for arrows, so ye just have to move them around a bit in case a mob is immune (wich *is* pretty rare of course, and even then it wont affect our CA's damage type, so actually kinda useless.. hehe )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit #2: <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spells&message.id=15129" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spells&message.id=15129</A> for other post on the issue, appears it might be related to the new TS'ed items.. *feels horrible when she realizes she crafted and sold several of those herself*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <P>Message Edited by Iseabeil on <SPAN class=date_text>06-22-2006</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>07:03 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Iseabeil on <span class=date_text>06-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:31 AM</span>
ammo restriction were removed for throwing weapons some time ago, all throwing weapons can now use all the different ammo types.I have never to date had any problems with my throwing skill and I use it many times a day<div></div>

<DIV> Not sure if you solved your problem skimming through, I might have overlooked it, but some have reported problems with post-LU24 made throwing weapons. Apparently some aren't flagged properly. If you can get a pre-LU24 version, that might fix your issue.</DIV>
