Better duo partner: Monk or Paladin?

<DIV>Friend and I are returning to EQ2 after leaving about 15 months ago.  Neither of us feel like playing a Priest class and he is thinking of playing a Swashbuckler.  I am looking at either a Monk or Paladin.  Has anyone had any experience in one of these combos?  Any plus or negatives would be great.  Thanks</DIV>

Guess going with monk would mean faster killing, but being more limited in what you can take on (lack of heals). Paladin + DPS of choice is one of the allround most effective duo's IMO, with amends being the key ability. This lets the DPS go all out from start to end of each fight, while the paladin focuses on keeping himsef alive (and doesnt have to waste precious power on taunts).I would say pally. :p<div></div>

If you plan to go PvE I'd recommend a Paladin. If you want PvP then a Monk and a Swashies a most formidable duo.
