Hey guys,

I had a question about Trial 4 MOA. I am in a smaller guild and we can field maybe two groups, on a good night three. I have read some strats about the trial but basically they all say just move fast cause respawn is fast.

My question is how difficult is this trial and can lets say two and a half groups do it? (avg. lvl 68-69)

Thanks Alot!

Sadaen

70 Swashbuckler

Blackburrow

Doubtful, unless those 2.5 groups are very well equipped and experienced. Your best bet would be to take those 2.5 and add some public recruits, hope for the best. Or try to hook up with another guild in a similar situation. Message me in game if you want specifics on the encounters, I'll be happy to help.

From my personal experience of hosting semi pick-up group raids to this zone, you are going to have a difficult time on the final encounter unless EVERYONE is on the ball. You should bring in 24 players, fast DPS is very important. You'll need to up your mental and magic resist as high as you can. Bring in a conjuror for CoH if someone gets left behind due to LD or if you need to bring someone new in. I hope these general tips point you in the right direction.

The comments above are (IMHO) accurate - let me try to add to them.

The only interesting reward for completing this instance is the quest reward itself, so it will be difficult to find veterans or well-equipped players willing to spend a couple of hours just to help others. (But that liability can be turned into an asset.)

The only good news is there are probably many other guilds on your server facing the same problem, so if you take a proactive role you may get your MoA. While most cooperative multi-guild raids are difficult to agree on, the absence of loot on this raid simplifies the issue.

I'd suggest you use EQ Players to find similarly situated guilds, and find one, two, or three whose rosters appear to have one or two "good" groups, but not enough to complete T4. Identify and contact the Guild Leaders, and describe your plan.

I'll assume you look for three other guilds to insure you can assemble a raid that will succeed on its first attempt.

Your plan may (eg) be to take the top group of players from each guild, and blast through MoA for all four guilds, then commit to rinse/repeat 2 or 3 times more for others in each Guild. To start, each guild might identify their own best single balanced group, an extra healer, and the next 2 top DPSers. From the pool of 36 players, select 24, 6 from each Guild, and do the raid.

If successful, drop some players and replace with equal numbers from each of the participating Guilds.

If unsuccessful, adjust strats and try again . . . or find other guilds . . . or wait until your own group of "best players" is stronger.

Do it your own way, of course, but you get the concept.

There are descriptions of the encounter itself if you search the boards and Google. And others who are "wearing the Mark" on your server can be asked for tips. But one "tip" I will give you is this:

As long as one person remains in the instance, others can zone in and out as long as at least one person among those re-entering is on this step in the quest. Evac also takes you to Bonemire, right to the zone entry quest mob/orb.

This allows you to replace players, send your MT out for repairs, replace players . . . one at a time per CoHer . . . from the center room after you have cleared the first two corridors. Or in large numbers if you have enough evaccers, and are willing to sepnd a few extra minutes re-clearing the re-pops in the first hallway.

So, don't try a pickup raid. I joined, left, and rejoined a raid that spanned an 8 hour period, and ultimately failed. Why? The people you will attract are likely to be people who aren't really good enough to be useful, leadership of such a group is difficult, and there will always be 4 or 5 who will try to afk their way to the quest update.

Instead, do a little organizing and get the MoA for your guild and some others.

Message Edited by Twoboxer2 on 05-17-2006 10:40 AM

Thanks for the help guys. I am thinking I might try to sneak in on a raid with a larger guild and see exactly where we need to be at to make it work. Great info!

Sadaen

70 Swashbuckler

Blackburrow
