What type of damage does/doesn't break the Swashbuckler Disarming line?I know that a direct attack does and believe an AOE attack does as well. But what about the dot effect from poisons?Thanks.<div></div>

I currently use a life tap for soloing and a mana tap for heavy (fast pulls) grouping and a DD for light groups.</div>

<DIV>AoE's ignore it, since it's 'removed from aoe effects' when mezzed. Hurricane aoe hits however will break it. Anything that causes damage to the mob will break it, including poisons.</DIV>

<DIV>"true" AEs will always break mez and encounter only AEs will not break mez unless the mezzed mob is specifically targeted</DIV>

Great, thanks for the replies.I was trying to work out a way to use AOEs and mez when soloing groups. I was hoping I could start with the AOEs then mez one of the mobs but that won't work as it may have a poison DoT on it. So really the only way to do it would be to mez one mob and then drag the others away to use the AOEs. That sounds tricky and would waste a fair bit of time.Any suggestions?<div></div>

It's regular mez...anything that would break mez would break disarming smirk line. <div></div>

Mezz a mob then untarget it and use your out-of-encounter AE as a test, it's not breaking mezz. Here's the scoop on mezzes: If you're with a chanter and they use a full encounter mezz, everything will break it. You can't use AEs at all. Single-target mezzes are only broken by attacks targeted on the mob specifically. So AEs are fine unless you have them targeted. There are non-obvious exceptions to this rule, one of them being Hurricane, which you cannot use ever if you plan on mezzing things. Apparently it works as if it targets every mob and takes a swing at them.</div>

<div></div>So they HAVE changed the Green (group only) AoE's are safe and the Blue (true AoE) AoEs break Mez??? <div></div><p>Message Edited by Teksun on <span class=date_text>05-11-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:36 AM</span>

Hi,I just did some testing last night.I agroed a group, mezzed one mob with the disarming line then switched targets and used both AOEs (lvl 42) and neither hit the mezzed mob which is great news. I tried to get a poison dot on a mob and mez it but poison never procs when you want it to >:I did try the trick in a group later on with a Conj, Mystic, Paladin, Necro and some one broke mez on the mob. Looked like raining fire on the mob that broke it but couldn't catch who was doing it.Thanks, I have a much better idea of how this works now.<div></div>

Good you did your own testing, now read the replies they all tell you a DOT WILL BREAK MEZ. mez is mez is mez is mez. Dont touch the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] mob and you'll be fine. <div></div>
<P>If the LU24 changes happen to our Disarming Grin, the nerf bat will be "breaking" our mez spell.</P> <P>It's a rarely used spell on my toolbar, but when I need to use it in a pinch, it sure does come in hand.</P> <P> </P>

Crono1321, uh thanks for the info...Oxie, that is not good news at all. I have recently got the 20s mez and trying to use it as much as possible as that is a long time to have a mob out of the fight, it can make the undoable easily doable. Now that I know I can take out a mob and still use the AOEs that is even better. Figures I just learn how to use it properly and it gets neutered...now I know how my pets feel <span>:smileysurprised:</span><div></div>

<DIV>At the moment hurricane proc breaks mez. That is only thing that breaks mez from our CA if mezzed mob isn't targeted.</DIV> <DIV>I can't say for LU24, because I'm not on test server. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
<div></div>currently on test our mezz line keeps same duration, but recast has been increased to 45 secondsAlso, for the high level swashies, I have not tested this, but have been told, the AE proc from weapons, eg, Dark Fury Sword of Anuk, WILL break mezz. this weapon procs and DoT's the encounter.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Licit on <span class=date_text>05-12-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:15 AM</span>
