Come on..... when you're bored you want to use that spell.... anyway.... fix it so no one can resist it because it's lame at 70 when everyone resist it.. just... change it so people can'T resist it... am I repeating myself? I'm bored at school.... /sigh

Yeah our joke spells need some fixing. They are lame....

Swashbucklers charm - makes a group member do the /fluster emote. most people don't even notice it, it stops happening when they move and it only works on lower players!

Disguise Half elf - There is a slight, SLIGHT change in appearance from turning from a high elf into a half elf... /ugh

Weapon Blur - /sigh this is the lamest lvl 50 particle effect they put in... the blur isn't constant, doesn't fit your weapons and is barely noticeable.

I feel like im the only one who thinks joke spells are important. They are a fun way to make your class more noticeable and unique. So why can't Swashbucklers get some joke spells that are interesting enough to use...

/agree on all counts.

We get some of the worst 'fun' spells. Some classes get highly imaginitve ones (conj and necro, fury, warden, wizard), but some classes really got the short end of the stick (templars, inquisitors, brigands, swashies).

How about an Erollisi-like aura for Swashies (the red glowie sparks from last year), or an impressive weapons display? Or a pet parrot? Or (gasp) how about an actual 'swash buckle' (bang weapon on shield) emote? Something.

Disguise Half-Elf is especially useless for me since I'm already a Half-Elf

Agreed! We dont have the prestige of the rangers or assassins, atleast let us have a little fun with our fluff spells..

I cant believe we cant even charm someone of the same level.. I dont suppose anyone can take [Removed for Content] and post what the weapon blur looks like? =)

Agreed, I mean besides my good looks how else am I gonna get those dark elf ladies to look at a good rogue like me. But honestly, I am already a Half-elf, so yay for the disguise. I almost never in a group when I can use the charm, and weapons blur gets me comments like, hey Jacus are you stoned. Yippee, my spells make me a druggie. Anyways, please give us something cool like where everyone bows down to our greatness.

Wargod1968 wrote:

How about an Erollisi-like aura for Swashies (the red glowie sparks from last year), or an impressive weapons display?

They stole the Erollisi aura from one of the other classes' fun spells... but I can't remember which class atm.I agree though, our fun spell effects SUCK. Brigands can knock people down, but I can't make them flirt with me? /sigh(FIX before NERF btw, I enjoy seeing certain people get knocked on their rear when my brigand boy gets annoyed :p I just want my charm to work.)Weapons blur is lame... can we get some sort of color to even make it noticeable? I am not a half elf so at least I occasionally use the disguise. On another note where are the lvl 60/70 fun spells? Maybe I shouldn't ask, seeing what we have now...

I try not to use the Half Elf illusion because it looks like someone took my wood elf, pulled his shirt down to his knees so he has a disproportionately large body and tiny legs, then stuck a bright yellow porcupine on his head. It's probably the least subtle "disguise" I've ever seen!

The HE illusion spell is fine as-is. It's a dice roll how you will look, though you get the same look each time. Mine happens to be fugly, but oh well. Plus there are other classes that get illusion spells as their fun spell, if they change ours then everyone will be asking to change to something else.

Swashbuckler's Charm and Weapon Blur - There are no excuses why these suck so hard. Charm is so easy to fix - remove the level restriction. Weapon Blur needs to go, good idea/spell description, horrible implementation. Perhaps in 3 years we will have video cards that can handle every setting on max - until then the spell effect is only noticible if you're zooming in on the hands.

It's like underwater distortion on a much, much smaller, more subtle scale in a small sphere around your right hand.

Noone else will ever notice it, unless you happen to group with people who spend an inordinate amount of time staring at your right buttock. The fact that it fades in and out only adds to the problem.

It's a cool concept -- blurring the air, and all -- but, considering it's a level 50 "show off" spell (especially considering we're the masters of ostentatious flair!), it's just too toned down. It needs colour, extra sparkly effects, more intense distortion, larger effect area ... something more.

I'm so glad I found this post. I never knew what Swashbucklers Charm did. It never had any noticable effect to me. Now that I know what to look for I'll try it again. BTW, where do I get the other fluff spells?

haha.. WTB Dev Luv! I agree completely. Remove the resist chance for Swashy charm! We are irrisistable. And weapon blur -- I have to say that I can't even tell the difference between having it on or off. I'm not sure what the intended effect was, but I'm not seeing it. Some serious blur would be a pleasant fluff effect.
