<div>I'm in Maj Dul, not really paying attention to mobs since I'm in Sneak, and get ambushed by one of those thieves. No biggie, it cons blue. So I start to lay a whooping on him, show him the error of his thieving ways. My camera angle is such that I'm only really seeing the thief. And he's laying a whooping on me instead, couldn't figure what was going on. I finally notice that I'm taking damage from other sources. I pan back and every citizen in Maj Dul has joined in and is kicking my butt. Ok, maybe not <em>every</em> citizen, but it sure seemed like it.</div><div> </div><div>Note to self. Remember to turn off Hurricaine.</div>

Some Maj'dul mobs have social agro. So it might not be Hurricane's fault. However, Hurricane can be trouble in some situations. Also great for [Removed for Content] chanters off.<div></div>

<div></div>Nope, what the OP said is true, it was Hurricane, had the same happen to me after I'd forgotted all about Hurricane being on, started getting beat on by the Dervin Thief, then suddenly 2 citizen's wanted a piece of me, manage to get the Thief and one of the Citizens but then died, own fault for running around with Evac on timer...

I didn't think anyone used that useless junk anymore? I think since they nerfed that skill, it causes more harm than good.<div></div>

Someone hasn't been keeping up with their AA discusions about hurricane. It procs just fine off of dual wield, especialy with a short delay weapon. It may only proc off of the primary hand, but with a short delay weapon and a DPS buff and a haste buff it will be right at the 1 second minimum. With the WIS AA line I notice about 100 to 150 DPS (sometimes more if poisons are proccing nice ans such) difference in the few instances where I have to turn of Hurricane because of the situation (agro danger or a coercer mezzing adds, because yes, hurricane breaks mez and stun). As far as funny situations with Hurricane... I forgot to turn it off in the palace of the awakened once, the first time I went in there (around level 62 or 63). There is a floor in there, after climbing up the wall there are a bunch of scaleborn Droag (the floor with the butcher, right under the dragon room). The floor has a bunch of rooms all around with a ton of scaleborn hiding in all the rooms, and wanderers walking down the hallways. Hurricane goes right through all the walls of these rooms. So we get to the top of the wall and run to the one safe corner, puling an add along with us. We thank our lucky stars that it was only one add and the tank gets right on it and we are taking it down fine. Butthen 2 more adds show up, then at least one more shows up; in this small corner all i could see were wings and tail because of the cramped conditions. The tank is yelling at who's AOE'ing and to stop right away, the healer is yelling that hes almost out of power, and I think the casters were just wimpering in the corner because of the barrage attacks ripping through their cloth armor interupting them. So I maneuver my camera for a better look and guess what i see?Orange numbers flying over all the mobs heads. Yup, I had pulled them and was pulling more. So I silently clicked on hurricane and shut it off, then Heroicaly diving for the wall and yelling to break combat. By that time the healer and casters were in a dead body pile in the corner and the tank and i were the only ones to survive. Once the mobs reset we climbed back up rezed the healer. To this day I still warn every group I go up there with to make sure that their AOE is turned off, even tho now, at lvl 70, thosemobs arent such a danger anymore. But please let my misfortune teach any up and coming swashies a lesson! Hurricane is an awesome ability, in the right situations.<div></div>

Take stuff down faster for the same amount of power = a win/win situation for me.</span></div>

<div><span><blockquote><hr>FiannaDK wrote:I didn't think anyone used that useless junk anymore? I think since they nerfed that skill, it causes more harm than good.<div></div><hr></blockquote>...yikes! With WIS AA, Adept 3 Hurricane and Adept 3 Inspiration, I've had full raid encounters turn on me, hehe (I was giddy, it was my first night with it, what can I say <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />).On group heroics or even soloing multiple targets, a lot of the time I'll have the second target down to half health before we even turn to face them.I'd take another look at hurricane <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span></div>

<div>Wis Swashy here also... </div><div>I can tell you that there is BIG difference in DPS with hurricane on and hurricane off.</div><div> </div><div>Good poison + hurricane + good weapon = agro over 70 Guard even with 28% hate transfer. This is just doing auto attack and I was 67 at the time and I only have adept 1 hurricane. If my group has 2 healers, I ask tank to pull 2 groups if they can. </div><div>Reason is there is no big difference killing one group vs 2 groups in time wise.</div>

<div></div>Just as a side note ... if you go wisdom line, I highly recommend taking a final trip through Harclave's trial in Splitpaw after getting hurricane. No good exp or loot, but its a helluva lot o' fun. Huge groups of mobs with hurricane, double attack, poison, and daring makes one feel like a buzzsaw. Just be sure to bring a lot of poison.

Maybe its because I'm not a wis AA swashbuckler, so I don't get the added bonus from doubleattack and the extra procs that comes from it. And to the guy that asked why i wouldnt want the extra dps for free: Because as the original poster apparantly does too, i forget to turn it off which results in embarrasing situations. Anyway, I simply enjoy dualwielding too much to become a Wis swash, even if that means my hurricane will suck(because i still think it does for me, maybe not for you wis people <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)<div></div>

<div></div>Even without wisdom line, I would only turn it off situationally. Over time hurricane is a major source of aoe damage regardless of wisdom. Given that aoe is our strong suit, it just seems to me that your not fully utilizing your character by ignoring hurricane.

Ah hell, you got me convinced - I'll start using it again and do some parsing. This is like one of those religious rallys where you come out as a changed person, haha <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I tend to form/join AoE melee groups, Zerkers/monks as tanks. Dirge rather than chanter as manabattery/buffer.If the DPS in the group is purely scout DPS then u can go <font color="#6633ff"><u><i>nuts with AoE attacks</i></u></font>.A good tank can hold most of the agro but it doesn't matter if the odd MOB beats on the brigand or swashie - we're pretty tough!! Melee groups have no soft belly and can pull multiple groups at once.......Can't engage message should come up regularly...<u><b><font color="#ffff00">So i leave hurricane on mostly</font></b></u>, just watch what your facing!!!<div></div>
