<div>Just a quick question (tried searching for answer first, but couldn't find it).  Which scout class has the best DPS?  And which class (overall) has the best DPS?  Just curious.  I've played a wide range of classes, but only tried Ranger in the "scout" classes. </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Thanks</div><div> </div><div>Exordus</div>

<div></div>Believe it goes standardly Ranger- Assasin-Swashbuckler-Brigand-Dirge-Troubadour.   This is only if all classes were in comparable  gear on an encounter that was perfectly setup.  There are variables that can always make one class do as much or more depending on encounter, resists, gear, and/or players.

Thats about right <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Swashies/brigands are nice if u want to balance dps/survivability/debuffs - swashbuckler/fury duo now rivals the monk/bruiser +fury combo if u play with a friend regularly. (mystic is also nice to duo with)If u pick swashie/brigand - you can increase debuffing/damage with strength achievement line or tanking with stamina/wisdom. Agility = PvP (being simplistic). Intelligence = raiding (agro avoidance)<div></div>

and to answer your question about best over all DPS class. I would say conj or necro with ranger and assassin close behind. I have both a necro and an assassin and my necro is a little better as far as dps. But it prolly depends on who is playing the toon (i think im better at playing necro so hes got a slight advantage)Ciphanic V'ReinNecromancer of Shadowhaven

<div></div><p>Wizards hands down are the best DPS. However, that is assuming unlimited hate control and power. In longer fights, the more power efficient Summoners and Rogues generally can average higher than the much higher short term, but less power efficient Predators and Sorcerers. If it isn't raid length though, then it doesn't work even assuming that hate control is not a consideration. Power is a consideration though, last time I was in a raid with a Ranger, I still had half my power left when they ran out, and I wasn't playing overly conservatively with it. I've seen Wizards drop all their power before I was below 75% power.</p><p>Summoners and Rogues have better hate control, meaning they can do more damage without swinging hate. Summoners by splitting hate with thier pet and Rogues through their buffs and CAs. However, there is no way in a short term that Summoners or Rogues will out damage an equivalently upgraded Predator or Sorcerer if hate control isn't an issue.</p>

<div></div><div>Ever since the expansion, with rangers getting smacked in the face with the big nerf bat, our bruiser, myself, and our assassin  are always at the top of the parses...then the necro pet (which makes me cry inside).</div><p>Message Edited by Chakkas on <span class="date_text">03-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:01 AM</span></p>

In all honesty if what you're looking for is 'Best DPS' from a class, steer away from Swashbuckler. You probably wont be happy with it. That's not a criticism, just the straight answer. Swashbucklers are more a versatile class than a focused one and bring alot of tricks to the table to help their entire group perform better rather than what they do directly. For pure damage I'd still say ranger, but since you've done that, try Assassin. I think you'd have fun with it.
