<div></div><p>Choosing to roll a new character and play on a PvP server has been quite the challenge and honestly I'm not sure I'm up to it! Or at least I need to remedy my ignorance and inexperience quickly. I am hoping that more experienced members can give me a hand.Today, I was adventuring in Antonica and was swiftly killed several times by players in their early 20s. Given that my Swashy is only at level 15, I wasn't too surprised. It was only when a Necro a level below me cleaned my clock that I started to wonder about my skills or rather the lack of them. To be honest, I'm fairly new to the game. I've spent the majority of my time experimenting with different classes and I have never done any dueling. I think I manage my Swashy well but the tactics used on NPCs are different to those used of enemy players. The battle was over rather quickly. The Necro rooted me and send her pet into pulverize, while she zapped me from a distance. While rooted, I concentrated on the pet as it was the only thing I could reach. At 15 my ranged attacks are nonexistent and although I do have a bow it does pathetic damage. When free of the root, I moved to engage the Necro. By the time I crossed the distance to her, I was near dead from spell damage and pet blows. I managed only a few attacks on her before I died. In all, it was a poor showing. My ego only survives because in an earlier encounter, I got a 19 Bruiser well into yellow before I died. So, how do my fellow Swashies deal with pet owners? I'd also love to hear some advice for PvP tactics in general. Many Named.</p><p> </p>
<div></div>try using your incombat stealth on the pet (the necro/conjy would be out of range for it to trigger), then moving to the pet owner

<div>And at level 26 you get a mez spell which comes in handy when fighting pets mez them and go after the caster. As for the stealth idea its the best at your current level.</div>

<div><strong>RESISTS</strong> resists resists.</div><div> </div><div>Forget +stat gear, what you wore in your PVE bluebie days is worthless now. Nothing will aid you more when fighting a caster than to resist all of his nuke's and root's.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Prepare!</strong></div><div><strong></strong> </div><div>Know who you are fighting if you have the chance and prepare a plan of attack beforehand. Know who you are fighting, casters you'll want to get in close on and fast and time all of your interupts and stuns to fizzle their spells. Fight on your terms, if you're jumped, there is no shame in running. You're a scout, you have a speed buff, invis and evac. If you can withstand the initial onslaught and get your wits about you, escape to fight another day. Always have an escape plan.</div><div> </div><div>When out hunting, always check track and set it to PC only. There is no good reason to have someone sneak up on you.</div><div> </div><div>Double up on your poisons, a debuff posion and a high DD+low DoT is the best combo I've had success with.</div>

<div></div><p>Where do you find debuff poisons?</p><p> </p><p>Also, what does it take to resist roots? Mental? Magic?</p><p>And other scout's stuns?</p>

Yeah, mages should be snuck up on, not sneaking up on you.I'm not getting bored of posting the below, and as you can see my little Swashy is having a rare old time. Got the KoS spire to CL as soon as I finished all the lowbie armor quests in Ruins etc at lvl 11 and only call back to bank. Nothing is yet green to me as I'm only 14, so I'm clearing up quite nicely off blues, whites and the occassional yellow. My best bit of advice is be aware of your enemys view. When fighting NPCs you have to stun them to get behind. When fighting other PCs most of the time you can run behind them whenever you feel like it. I know from playing Meds that whenever a scout is attacking me I'm usually too busy with healing and nuking to be worrying about whether the FPS is in front or behind me.Anyway, check out the kills streak. Was still about lvl 13 when this was updated <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/mentla/Swashy.jpg"><div></div>
