I'd like to know the same...Why is there such a lack of guides on this entire forum? From quests to zones to skills and what not.. On the SWG forum we have guides to everything.<div></div>

That's a nice site, but it is clearly not updated often enough. There is information on there that says that upon death, the posion buffs dissipate. Which, as we know, is no longer true.Plus, there is a lot of extraneous material in there.I'm looking for a cut and dried answer to what poisons can stack with one another. How many can I have active at once, and of what type.Thanks.<div></div>

<div>Unless things have changed (and I'm pretty sure they haven't), the rules for applying poisons are the same as they have always been:</div><div> </div><div>There are three different "types" based on % to proc. 15%, 20% and 25%</div><div> </div><div>25%ers are usually damage poisions</div><div> </div><div>20%ers are usually debuffs</div><div> </div><div>15%ers are usually legendary (only a few doses but very effective, for example, very high damage)</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>You can apply one of each at the same time.</div><div> </div><div>If you have all three applied and apply another 25% poison, it will erase the previous one. same goes for all.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>hope this helps.</div>

<div>Ok wait, so does that mean I can have 3 poisons going at once as long as they aren't the same color? or did I read that incorrectly?</div>
<div></div><blockquote><hr>Trinitymonger wrote:<div>Ok wait, so does that mean I can have 3 poisons going at once as long as they aren't the same color? or did I read that incorrectly?</div><hr></blockquote>Right, but <strong>currently only for T7</strong>. Tiers 2-6 follow the old stacking way (1 poison of each proc %). So for T7, you can have a red poison, a blue poison and a purple poison. Here's screenshots of the common poisons: <a target="_blank" href="http://oz.cx/eq2/kos-beta-poisons1-20060218.jpg">http://oz.cx/eq2/kos-beta-poisons1-20060218.jpg</a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://oz.cx/eq2/kos-beta-poisons2-20060218.jpg">http://oz.cx/eq2/kos-beta-poisons2-20060218.jpg</a> Thanks for these go to Agra.

Thank you, this is helpful. Now we're getting somewhere. So, currently I can still have one of each type (damage, debuff); proc rate (15%, 25%) active? Is this right? Does this work out to 4?Just trying to work this out without burning charges of poisons.1. Damage 15%2. Damage 25%3. Debuff 15%4. Debuff 25%Please confirm. : ) I will try this tonight... if I have enough money/rares.<div></div>

<div></div><p>There are lots of guides on this forum if you search for the right words. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Sadly we have no power to sticky, so they fade away if they're not bumped regularly. (Best you can do is find them and bookmark them.) Add to that, there used to be a scout archetype forum and a rogue class forum, both of which held a wealth of information, both of which were disposed of by the forum staff a couple of months ago (actually they're still archived <a target="_blank" href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2?category.id=archives">here</a> but not in an intuitive location). Add to <em>that</em>, there have been lots of major changes to combat in recent months, particularly to our subclass and to poisonss, so a lot of stuff older than a couple of months is plain out-of-date. Not to mention this is one of the less-played subclasses, so there isn't a massive swashbuckler population on these boards. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Aaaanyway. Poisons. I'm going to have to go find, copy, and re-re-re-paste the original DoF poison info, which is still valid. Gimme a few and I'll put it up for you. In the meantime, ignore proc rates -- they have no bearing on stacking rules.</p>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><p></p><hr>Copying/pasting some Dev posts from the DoF Beta boards that I saved, as they're the official word and summarise it quite nicely:<blockquote><hr><!-- EZCODE BOLD START --><strong>Poisons</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END -->- Poisons will now appear in the Scout's Maintained window as well as their Effects window when applied. (Previously, they were only visible in the Effects window.)- When a poison procs on a victim, the poison effect will appear in the attacker's Maintained window. This denotes that the player successfully poisoned a target. There is no concentration cost, however.- A Scout can have one Poison from each category active at the same time. This means a Scout can have a damage poison active, a resist debuff poison active, and a miscellaneous debuff poison active (anything other than a resist reduction or damage). Any or all of these three have a chance to proc during an attack.- Scouts can no longer have more than one damage poison active. This was done to reduce confusion, since only one of those damage poisons would actually be active.- Poison damage effects will stack when applied by different Scouts to the same target.- Poison debuffs will stack only if the debuff effect is different. The same debuff effects (e.g. two strength debuffs) will never stack, even if applied by different Scouts.- Poison effects will not interfere with profession damage or debuff spells. All poison effects will be cumulative to profession spells with similar effects (i.e. a Scout can use a poison that decreases the target's strength along with a combat art that decreases its strength, and both will take effect).<hr><!-- EZCODE QUOTE END --><!-- EZCODE QUOTE START --></blockquote><blockquote><hr>- Scout poisons are no longer outright resisted when they proc in melee combat, but their damage can still be mitigated.<hr><!-- EZCODE QUOTE START --></blockquote><blockquote><hr>- Poisons now display a descriptive proc message and no longer just say "poison."<hr><!-- EZCODE QUOTE END --><!-- EZCODE QUOTE START --></blockquote><blockquote><hr>A scout player can have 3 poison Buffs active at one time: one<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --><strong>damage</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> Poison Buff, one<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --> <strong>misc debuff</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> Poison Buff, and one<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --> <strong>resist debuff</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> Poison Buff.<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --><strong>Damage</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> includes any type of instant or over-time damage from a poison<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --><strong>Misc Debuff</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> includes any type of attribute reduction, attackspeed/dps reduction, or control (Stun, Root, Mez, etc.) debuff from a poison.<!-- EZCODE BOLD START --><strong>Resist Debuff</strong><!-- EZCODE BOLD END --> includes any type of mitigation reduction from one of the damage types: crushing, slashing, piercing, magic, mental, divine, cold, heat, poison, and disease.<hr></blockquote><p>The last post is probably the most informative, as the most frequently asked question is how to differentiate between the two types of debuff poisons. (Under "Misc Debuff" poison, "attribute reduction" means debuffing any primary stat, such as -STR, -AGI, -INT, etc.)</p><p>You will never find a poison that crosses the boundaries between those 3 defined poison types. So you'll never see a damage poison that also debuffs. You'll never find a poison that debuffs a resistance as well as a performing a misc debuff (attribute reduction, dps reduction, stun, snare, etc.). All poisons will fit into just one of those 3 categories. Once you've determined which type it is, you can easily figure out which other poisons you can have applied simultaneously.</p><p></p><hr><p>Add to the above that poisons no longer disappear on death.</p><p>Also add that some people are reporting that the standard 200 procs on some regular (25%) damage poisons has been lowered to only 100 procs (I haven't seen this on any of the poisons I use, all still 200 procs).</p><p>Note that this only applies to tiers 2-6. I believe new poisons got a facelift with KoS, but I haven't yet seen/tested any T1 or T7 poisons.</p><p>Message Edited by overfloater on <span class="date_text">02-28-2006</span><span class="time_text">01:59 PM</span></p>

First, just so you know, I did try searching, but the words common to such posts just brought up too much to slog through, especially when I didnt even know if the answer was out there.Second, thank you for the repost. It seems to be the current be-all-end-all answer to my question. Now I know what poisons to look for.Thank you very much.<div></div>

Okay, here is my follow up question, if anyone knows the answer.Out of the poisons that can root, stun, mez, etc., which one procs at the highest rate? Obviously its vital to keep those you attack around when you are winning (or slow them down when you are not), so I am trying to choose the most effective type of this poison. Thanks in advance.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Off the top of my head I'm not 100% sure, because there very rarely seem to be many utility poisons on the market on our server -- I've <u>never</u> seen a root or snare poison on sale, and rarely are there any stat debuffs. I'm pretty sure they all follow more or less the same proc rate though (either 15% or 20%, I forget).</p><p>Bear in mind that stun poisons usually have very few procs per charge (like 8, or something), so they're little use for regular xping (unless you're <em>incredibly</em> rich) and they don't work against epics -- really they're only useful against named heroic and solo mobs. Other stat debuff/utility poisons usually have a lower number of procs than damage and mitigation debuff poisons, usually 40. Again, unless you have cash to burn (or a rich alchemist alt) these are usually of limited use soloing and in regular xp groups, much more useful on raids where their effect is amplified by prolonged fights.</p>
