<div></div><div>As crummy as we solo, i am surprised we are not alot higher on the dps list. Sure, I know each class has its rough spots, and all of them at 19, 29, 39 etc... but my goodness, even at 40 with the best gear i could afford... i find myself getting into 1/3 hp left... with blues. Mere blues!</div><div> </div><div>Mind you, one of my reasons for leaving was the fact that solo play... was EXTREMELY slow and boring, and for swash, totally ineffecient'; that was awhile ago. It isnt so much that I resent our place, just that I feel like we arent doing "excellent dps" like we should be; with a ranger, any given caster, most healers, and most tanks solo 10x better than we do. The ones that dont solo well, get advantages; so should we. The class itself, plays well; very exciting, just that i feel like for all the jumping around we do, brigands shouldnt by any means outdamage us when they have slower specials and have to put less effort into maintaining dps.</div><div> </div><div>Rangers being recently nerfed, considering they have all the advantages of rogue, PLUS can solo like gods, putting them as the best dps in the game was simply unfathomable. So i guess by their fall, we rise.</div><div> </div><div>So our place currently is; every so often aoe damage, lower tier dps than we should be, suck at soloing, and our so called "utility" is of questionable use.</div><div> </div><div>Conclusion; i find myself questioning whether way back when, i should have chosen to stay Freeport. They dont share our weaknesses or frustrations, and yet put out the same dps without all the jumping around. lol.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>

I can take medium yellow one up arrows usually to.I work exclusively in dual wield mode in the offensive stance.. I think I have gone defensive maybe 3 times in the last 2 months.  I dont own a 1h weapon nor a shield.Only one of my weapons is a rare crafted, but I soloed just peachy with two common crafted. My tip, since you haven't given us any information, is to not try heroics unless they are very green.  Soloing does not include heroics as a common mob.  Sure with luck, skill and good gear you can get some, but stick with the mobs intended for a soloer.. the solos.Move up in stealth, pop off your stun stealth attack (should have one by now) and then your other rear/positional attacks then go to town with your debuffs and attacks from the front.Works like a charm...  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span></div>

<div></div><p>I finish most fights with blue mobs at about %80 health, maybe %60 power.  Greens don't even touch me thanks to our debuffs and avoidance boosts while in defensive stance.</p><p>If you're having trouble taking blues it's time to change something about your approach.  I'd need to know your approach before I recommended any changes.  What works is different for different people as well.  I'm still expirimenting at 60 with how I approach solo combat.</p><p>In general:</p><p>1. Always open with Brazen Thrust (or it's equivalent).  6 seconds of stun is a good thing (tm)</p><p>2. Follow that up with a flank/backstab</p><p>3. Apply debuffs, get that defense debuff in there, knock down the mitigations, make sure your DPS debuff is on as well.</p><p>4. Be patient. Wait for backstab/flank to recharge.</p><p>5. Cheap Shot->hop over, backstab/flank</p><p>6. If you're really running into issues, auto-attack off->mez->re-position... breathe a bit... brazen-thrust... and start over.</p><p>On any blue mob it should be dead well before step #6, which I only really need against whites/yellows.</p><p>Also flex your multi-mob muscles a bit, learn ways, using mez, to handle multiple mobs without just trying to muscle through it.  Finesse is your friend.</p><p> </p><p>**Standard disclaimer about making sure you have at least Adept I's of all abilities, decent gear etc.</p><p>***Standard disclaimer about stances.  If defensive stance isn't working for you, try offensive and vice versa.  My personal preference is defensive but there are plenty of offensive advocates.  Also don't be afraid to try *neutral* stance (no stance whatsoever).</p>

I solo'd all the named mobs for Screaming Mace when they were still green con. </p><p>The fact that my swashy can take out named Heroics shatters any thought that they are "crummy soloers"  Maybe it's the player who's crummy at it? ;-P</p><p>What would they have to be to be good soloeres in your book? Being able to solo blue con epics? Sheesh.</p><p> </p>

<div></div>Ya, I don't really seem to have any problem soloing.  Generally by the time I unload one round of CA's any yellow non up arrow mob is either dead or just about, and this only takes 10-15 secs.  My biggest problems soloing is waiting for refresh timers so I can kill another mob <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<div></div><div>Something else to add here,  old time Swashies use to put points into agility.   Dont do this. </div><div> </div><div>Agility-Bad</div><div>Strenght-Good</div><div> </div><div>You want enough agility to have a decent size power pool in my experience, but if you really want to kill mobs you need to have the dps from strenght to do it.</div><div> </div><div>Thus the gear and upgrades I get are primarily strenght.</div><div> </div><div>I also run offensive stance, start from stealth ca, then use that stun to finish my other back  ca's, then finish from the front using my debuffs and other attacks.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Also I like to grab a healer,   I master II my 2 aoe CA's and pull linked mobs and kill them all 1/2 dead in two hits.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>
