<div>My wife's swashy just dinged 55 and got her Hail of Steel.</div><div>So we suppose it's time for her to retire her lovely imbued ironwood bow and get some sort of throwing weapon.</div><div> </div><div>I also assume that crushing makes the most sense, since she has no other decent options to do crushing damage?</div><div> </div><div>What's the recommendation for ranged slot in this case? Currently we know basically nothing about throwing weapons. Different types of satchels go with different ammunition types, but I don't know which is which.</div><div>I assume she'd be initially looking for the crafted rare T6 blunt object ranged item, whatever that is, correct?</div>
<div></div>the ammo restrictions on throwing weapons was lifted, doesn't matter which one you get anymore, all ammo types can be used with it. Rare crafter is currently the best you can get, I'm yet to see a fabled throwing weapon above lvl 30.

<div>Ah, thanks for that, Lukia.</div><div> </div><div>So are there <em>any</em> differences between the satchels now? Different damage/delay perhaps?</div><div>Any recommendations? T6 rare is <strong>Scaled</strong>, isn't it?</div><div>Since procs aren't affected by delay I guess higher delay = less ammo consumed, for the same overall DPS?</div><div> </div><div>Elendril, Aurora Australis.</div>

<div></div>Delay isn't important. Hail of Steel always throws at the same rate. The damage from just sitting there on Auto-Attack isn't worthwhile, unless you are in a raid situation where you can't get close to it due to AoE being too nasty. Mostly in those situations, the point is to use Hail of Steel as often as possible.

<div></div><p>Surely you might also want to use throwing for crushing damage against mobs that are piercing/slashing immune/resistant?</p><p>By the way, thanks for all the replies.</p><p>Also is there no equivalent of quivers for throwing weapons?</p><p>Wife loves her new CA, pity they are planning to nerf the poison procs on it.</p>

If I understand correctly, HoS will go from - 15 chances to proc over 30 seconds (with proc rate normalised to a 3.0 delay time), down to one chance to proc over 30 seconds?

If I am, how often has poison procced for you off of HoS? Once, maybe twice for me, that's a ~1,000 damage nerf for that 30 seconds (~33 DPS).</span></div>

<div><div>I don't think Hail of Steel actually counts as a multi-hit weapon skill. It recasts iterations of Aim Steel (I think that is what it is called anyways), so I don't think it will be effected.</div></div>

Yea, HoS is now a spell like cast for each throw and is effected by lag <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Whether or not this will be counted as seperate CA each time for purposes of a proc, no idea yet. What has happened though is, they seem to have removed the immunities of mobs to warious weapon types. At least a huge portion of them. I no longer have to constantly switch weapons out. I can use the ones I like now. THANK YOU SOE!!!!!!Also, you no longer need 3 throwing weapon pouches (one for each type). One pouch can now use piercing, slashing and crashing so, I have 2 backups now <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><p>Message Edited by Scortch on <span class="date_text">02-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:49 PM</span></p>

<div></div>just to add a side notethey are just removing immunites, not normalizing dmg accross the boredi.e. a mob that was 100% resistant to slashing before may only be 98% resistant now, so you are going to do dmg, just not very much<div></div><p>Message Edited by iluciferi on <span class="date_text">02-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">05:38 PM</span></p>

Well, so far, the ones that used to be totally immune to say slash for instance, slash is doing just as much damage as pierce is. Least all the mobs we fight, so far. PP2, GoAA, etc.

<div></div><p>The couple times I've raided since they removed immunities I haven't noticed a difference in the fight if the mob is resistant. It sure didn't *seem* like whatever resistance they had made a difference.</p><p>Often times the raid leader would still point out that this or that mob was resistant to a certain damage type, during the actual fight I did not see any reduced damage using the type of weapon they were supposed to be resistant too though.</p><p>I'm happy though, not all my weapons are equally uber so now I can just stick with the best two.</p><p>Anyone else notice resistances significantly reducing your damage?</p>
