browsed the ranger forums a bit ago. they are finally complaining about something, which i thought was really oddwhat had been nerfed?SoA-its no longer point blank and cant be used with thorny trapweapon procs-melee weapons no longer proc off of bows-apperently its ok for them to proc melee weapons off of their bow, but we cant proc off of both hands or they feel threatned in thier ubernessthats it those 2 things made their class broken and they can no longer solo ^^^'s 4 levels above them.let me be the first to say /cheer

Message Edited by iluciferi on 02-06-200601:08 PM

i honestly dont care if its rude, point is a class finally got nerfed that needs to be. that im very happy about. they nerf hurricane and our off hand procs b/c we could take heroic mobs when we werent supposed to, yet they can solo an entire instance by themselves.

Being happy that a broken skill got fixed is quite different than being happy that people are upset.

No one here wants to see Rangers nerfed. No one here wants to see any class impacted negatively. At least, that's my take on the Swashy forums. Are there imbalances? Sure. All MMO's have them. Everyone raises eyebrows at *any* class that can solo something like Roost. However no one was looking for any specific negative change to Rangers. Even the Roll a Ranger campaign is really just a sarcastic jibe at all those folks thinking DPS is the only measure worth caring about.I'd rather not see the Swashy forum turn into a "we should be the uberest scout" class forum that cheers whenever other scouts suffer game changes that impact them negatively (even if necessary). Most of the Rangers I play with are great people, many were upset at the change, I sympathized, they are friends and the game got less fun for them. They will recover and carry on, in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't a big change. As far as the complaints, well, they are complaining no louder than you are in this thread about changes to the Swashy class.

Yep, SOE on the move now. First they nerf the crap out of us and other classes. Now they are nerfing Rangers left and right. I wonder if Brigands and brawlers ever will?It was told here that SOE doesn't like happy players. They don't like players being happy with their class. Seems it's true. The more you complain, the more they leave you alone. The squeeky wheel, in this case, doesn't get greased. It's the quiet wheel that's made squeeky.
Message Edited by Successer on 02-06-200603:33 PM

i guess ill explain further, when every class in the boards but 2 have posts about whats wrong with thier class, and the said 2 have posts like "whats your favorite writ" and flame other boards for whining, i get upset. now they finally start complaining, so maybe sony will pull thier heads out of thier [Removed for Content] and relize they need to stop screwing with things. decide what direction you want classes to go and stick to it. when ppl do complain its about stupid mundane detail like melee weapon procs on bows, it never should have been allowed in the first place, and they say that the dynamics of the class have changed.what pisses me off the most is the fact that the devs dont follow any kind of logic nor do they apply "soloability" rules to classes evenly. as i said we get nerfed b/c classes might "think" we are too strong. everyone know rangers are over powered at the moment, and finally something small has been done about it. they address the need for higher melee dps for scouts, then take it away and actually mess the game up worse.then you have ppl that actually roll a ranger b/c they see them doing high dps, PL to lvl 60 and suck. then the whining starts about how they get out dps'd by someone that actually knows how to play a class effectively (wizzies, warlocks, conj, nec, some well out fitted rouges). thus soe looks at the 50k ppl that are playing a flavor of the month class, and ignore the hardcore ppl that have played a class since day 1.granted im not one that likes to see nerfs to classes, however, the only other alternative if to raise the power of mobs(a dev bascially said this will never happen, its too "complex&quot, thus making it impossible to solo. so you have to bring classes back down to within range of other classes. thats why they took poison procs etc.finally, THE CLASS DIDNT GET NERFED, thats my point, issues that where fixed needed to be(ie procs). and they cant use SoA with thorny trap anymore, all that means is they have to addapt (/gasp, plz soe dont make me use my brain!). it will be marginally harder for them to solo ^^^ but its not class breaking.

Personally I don't care what other classes can do in game, if someone can solo an instance, its not only cause of there class, but an immense amount of skill. What I look at is who is standing beside me in a raid, if they get nerfed, the raid becomes harder. I play this game to raid, to have the challenge of beating zones with my mates, its not abut what one class or another can do, its abut how you work in the team.

You might cheer as Rangers get adjusted but as a Rogue I'm personally concerned that as things get adjusted above my head targetting Rangers they're going to fall slap bang on my head.... there's "issues" with poison proc rates off bows, and it would seem poisons are going to be redone in KoS. Also people talk about Scout dps in relation to Wizards when they mean Predator dps... etc ect.

It would be very easy for the devs to overlook the impact to Rogue dps in an adjustment to Scout dps... I personally wish they'd leave the whole thing alone, reconcile ourselves to Rangers doing uber damage, and just get on and enjoy the game. The classes are all viable as it stands, if somebody wants incredible damage they're free to roll a Ranger.

Message Edited by Carnagh on 02-06-200606:15 PM
