<div></div><div>Using Tier 6 Common:</div><ul><li>Bandolier - Axes (Slash)</li><li>Sheath - Knive (Pierce)</li><li>Satchel - Hammer (Crush)</li></ul><p>Can't hit him with any of them, I know he's immune to Pierce and Crush, but what gives with not hitting with slash? Means I have to joust 2 AOEs, which really isn't fun when I need to cycle debuffs so he doesn't kill the tank. It's like theres still some code left in the CA thats trying to hit him with heat.</p><p>Any other Swash got a strat? I'm using Tier 2 ammo from Bowyer Trueshot in Willowood, so that could be why I guess, still annoying though.</p><p>Message Edited by CrazedMutha on <span class="date_text">01-29-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:25 PM</span></p>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><p>He is an orange mob and is VERY hard to hit. He parries the majority of the hits. Make sure you are behind him. Sure, 90% of the mobs in DOF are brawler mobs (in places like pp2, gates, al'afaz) and still parry 360 degrees (which is stupid), it helps some.</p><p>I use the slash pouch (axes) and it does hit, just not a whole lot.</p><p>One thing you have to do for mobs like this. Don't gear up with your best gear so much as gear up with STR items and anything that will raise your ATK numbers. I do this and add in some heat also and just joust instead of trying to stay in aoe.</p><p>I use the same ammo. It's from the bowyer in the corner of the zone.</p><p><span class="time_text"></span> </p><p>Message Edited by Successer on <span class="date_text">01-29-2006</span><span class="time_text">01:11 PM</span></p>

I use T5 ammo from Elddar Grove and have no problems hitting Sunchild. Have no problems getting hit by him either:smileywink:

<div></div>You need to use legendary ranged items, the bandolier or sheath, to hit epic mobs.

<div></div><div><blockquote><hr>-Llama- wrote:<div></div>You need to use legendary ranged items, the bandolier or sheath, to hit epic mobs.<hr></blockquote>Incorrect, from my experience. I've hit EVERY epic in the game I have fought, except Sunchild with tier 6 common satchel/bandolier/sheath. I have a feeling its because he is Orange, and common may not hit orange too well, but Epic tag has nothing to do with it.</div><div> </div><div>On another note, (possibly a stupid question) if we are using <strong>one ranged ammo holder</strong> for all 3 types of ammo, how will we toggle between ammo types?</div><p>Message Edited by CrazedMutha on <span class="date_text">01-30-2006</span><span class="time_text">08:41 AM</span></p>

<div>I used Augmented Leather satchel (t5 Legendary) and the T1 6 copper axes.</div><div>No problems hitting him.</div>

<div></div>From my experiences, ranged is no different from melee. You need Legendary+ to hit epics Melee, it should apply the same to ranged. I would go with a scaled sheath and bandolier(so you can do pierce slash and crush) if not just for the stats like previously stated.

<div></div>That's true, I didn't think of that. You DO need these weapons made from rares, not common. Sure, you can use the common ones on some t6 stuff but named mobs need legendary (made from rares).

<div>Yep, legendary is required, but interestingly enough it doesn't matter which teir legendary you are using! Rare T5 pelts go for under 10 gold and do full damage with HoS / Artic lines.</div><div> </div><div>The other big factor when considering hit rate on oranges is what your throwing / melee skills are at. Dirge's discordant boon, Templar's Holy reboubt, and Warden's Natural somthing work to buff this. *I'm sure there is some others* Self-buffed preds have a better chance to hit oranges because of this. Also, don't forget to toss on dithering chicanry the first chance you get to help out even more.</div>

<div>I think you guys are a little off. I've used tier 6 common successfully against every named both in Gates Courts and Against Contested. It's only Sunchild I have a problem with.</div>
