<div>I am new to swashbuckling and I am having probs with this spell... If I am soloing and I take on 2 mobs, if I use this on the pull I lose the advantage of shanghai followed by backstab followed by distracting blade, which often nearly kills one the the mobs.</div><div> </div><div>so what is the tactic on this spell and soloing?</div><div> </div><div>also I guess if u get an add in a group, you target that mob.. turn your attack off.. hit it with disarming grin, then re engage the main encounter?</div><div> </div><div>any tactics?</div><div> </div><div>many thanks</div>
Openning up with it works well actually.Whenever you mez the first one, target the second one and hit them with Cheap Shot. As long as they're solo you can easily get behind them and hit snoop->shanghai->sneak attack->backstab. If they're not solo, you can often get off shanghai, which will knock them down, then jump over them and get the sneak attack->backstab in.In groups, I have a macro that merely says "%t is mesmerized by my greatness!!!" which lets everyone know that the target is mezzed. I often hit escape so I'm not attacking/targetting anyone and target the one I need mezzed. Hit the Disarming X and then hit the macro once I see it's hit. then retarget the tank and keep on truckin'.<div></div>

<div></div><div></div>Personally, this is what I do (cut/paste from a former post):<div>Another tactic I use is Disarming Grin (AMAZING skill when you know how to use it!) when dealing with multiple mobs. Here are the steps I do when attacking mobs:</div><div> </div><div>Target 1:</div><div>1) Ambuscade</div><div>2) Kidney Blow</div><div>3) Unfriendly Reminder / Cat's Paw (if 3<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>4) Hit the tab key to select another target (Target 2) and QUICKLY cast Disarming Grin, then QUICKLY tab back to Target 1 and resume your damage.</div><div> </div><div>Your goal here is to mesmerize the target, without hitting him before (because you don't want him to get poisoned), mesmerize him, then disengage the target before you hit him so that you won't break the mesmerization on that target. I do this ALL the time. It causes the target to just stand there for 15 seconds. It's a life saver. And, in a long battle, rinse and repeat! LOL</div><div> </div><div>This doesn't work well in groups because of all of the AoE attacks that cause the mesmeration to be broken, but that's what the tank is for. <img border="0" src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif" height="16" width="16"> hehehe</div><div> </div><div>I hope this helps!</div><p>Message Edited by Klantic5 on <span class="date_text">02-04-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:17 PM</span></p>

i never really used it personally, unless i got an add. i always thought i was better to open with your stealth attack and your quick recast backstab unload a few ca's (usually aoe's) until mob 1 dies then stun the second use what backstabs you have left mob turns, use your frontal ca then trechorus blade line, usually mobs are dead after that. (you can usually kill a down arrow before it turns) if mobs are grouped i personally go after teh weakest one first b/c its one less mob hitting you.alternatly you could shanghi mob 1, and during the 2 seconds its stunned mez the other(1.5 second cast on mez) and just use single target attacks.method one takes a bit more of a beating than method two, so its really just a matter of what you preference, use pure dps and burn a mob down, or use finnese...once you get hurricane however i really would worry to much about mezzing. some ppl say its a crap spell now but its still pretty powerful, (why hit only one mob if you have the chance to hit 2?)best of luck to you and i hope this helps you out<div></div>

<div>i use it in strong fights, with one oponent. Stop attack, mezz, snoop and go behind the Mob attack with Shanghai and use alle your back styles.</div><div> </div><div> </div>

aye but poison breaks mez, ie you have 6 seconds from last proc to 1)mez-1.5 second cast 2)stealth-1 second cast 3) jump behind mob 4) attack-cast (usually shanghi for extra 2 second stun cant remember what cast time is). thats not factoring in recoverry time so thats really not much room for error and not a 100% guranteed mezz.but in all fairness it is possible, but i would advise practicing on some grey's a couple times. again best of luck<div></div>

<div></div><p>I rarely mez. I have been soloing heroic groups of Faction Guards in Maj'Dul the past few days, and I just burn the groups down. Equip Dark Fury Saber of Anuk in Main hand(Or even sub Prismatic 1.0 or an imbued weap if you dont have this), Foreman's Shank or Prismatic 1.0 in offhand. With hurricane, you proc the Prismatic 2.0 proc on the entire group quite often, (as well as poison). I can usually take a group of 4 no arrow herioc level 54 guards down before I hit yellow. *shrug* I only mez when I tank poet's. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

im going to guess the original poster is below 25, having said that your post about the prismatic 2.0 makes no sense, how many swashies actually have this? my guess is like 5. gear has a huge impact on the mobs you can kill, and most of us cant pull crap like that out of our [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn].<div></div>
