Is it me, or are all of the level 44 Master II options lame? Uncanny Speed, Flurry of Blades, Frigid Throw - these all seem like excellent choices, but no.

None are jumping out at me. What did you go with for your level 44 Master II and are you happy with that choice?

Heh. See, there you have it. They're just not memorable. :smileyhappy:

Disarming Smirk (Mez)

Bladeweaver (+ AGI and Increased effectiveness of combat arts)

Flash of Steel (Mediocre damage attack that lowers target's DPS)

Razor Edge (Mediocre damage Side/Frontal attack that reduces target's parry)

BW upgrades at 55, FoS and RE at 57.

Disarming Smirk -- the upgrade doesn't alter the duration, only resistability. Personally I rarely have problems with resists anyway, plus it's a fairly situational spell as it is. Also note that it's a true spell (not a CA) and follows spell recast rules, so even if you do get a resist it's only a few seconds before it's refreshed anyway. We tend to have fewer power issues than many other classes, so the extra power for a recast really isn't that big a deal for us.

Bladeweaver -- increased AGI and STR, so increased power pool, avoidance, and higher damage on autoattacks and all CAs. I forget the exact numbers but Master2 Bladeweaver is better than Adept1 Battleweaver (the T6 upgrade).

Flash of Steel -- damage isn't great but it's fast recast. Lowered DPS can be very useful but it's an incredibly short duration debuff, 10 seconds -- same as the recast time. This means it must be spammed to maintain the debuff, which isn't optimal (and means you can't maintain it on more than one target, sadly).

Razor Edge -- very nice damage and debuff for soloing, useful-ish in groups if you don't mind being very mobile (mainly for damage rather than debuff, unless you have a high DPS tank), really not so hot for raids. Definitely a valid choice if you solo a lot (it's the "frontal backstab" ) but probably a wasted choice if you intend to spend a lot of time raiding.

Personally I went for Bladeweaver. Increased power pool can't hurt and the extra dose of damage across all your CAs is welcome. Plus I'm notoriously broke, so I figured I could delay upgrading Battleweaver in T6 if I needed to. Second choice would probably have been Razor Edge, 3rd Flash of Steel, 4th Disarming Smirk.

But yeah, you're right. It's the pick of a crappy crop.

Hey, that's great stuff. Thanks!

I think Bladeweaver sounds like the winner. I actually had already made my choice and went with Flash of Steel. But I think I can still claim the "Do-Over" reward on this character, which I'm considering. :smileyhappy:

I solo more than I'd like cause I have to go AFK a lot. And I get called to log off and switch to my gnome. Haven't been on a single raid with this toon, so that stuff does make a difference.

I think the real answer is whatever I go with I need to have a real damage CA, like Flurry of Blades, upgraded to Adept III. :smileytongue:

Bladeweaver will give better stats then next tiers battleweaver untill ye can get it up to adept3 (unless they changed it recently) and is really the only choise i would consider at lvl 44.

long term and if you are raid focused I would go with Flash of Steel, I think Master 2 has 31% DPS debuff, which is only superseded by Dazzling Steel Master I at this point of time.
