<DIV>Maybe this is a dumb question, but is the dmg on ringing blow influenced by the dagger art you perform last?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For example, does it do more damage if you use Distracting Blade instead of Quick Strike? I'm just talking about the magic dmg from the HO, not the melee hit itself with the special.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV>

<DIV>I can tell you this...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I complete that hero op with Playful Swipe(Quick Strike upgrade), the magic dmg portion is consistently 98.  It does tend to be higher more often than not when the harder-hitting arts are used, though not too much higher as far as I can tell...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Both seemed to randomly do between 80-100 for the same HO. </P> <P>I know that HO power is based on the level of the target ( although it doesnt really scale as well as it should). Other than that, there really isnt much evidence for the last attack doing more other than "if so, not much." </P>

It's not scaling as well as it should, I agree. At level 5 or whenever you can start them, ringing blow does about double the damage of a comparably levelled move on whites. Up in the 20's, it actually does less damage than nearly all your moves.

Many damage HO's are "percentage" based. If you have the Prima guide it lists them all out. Those are based off the the damage the "finishing" blow does. Luck's Bite and Arcane Trickery are good examples. One does %75 the other does %100-%200. I've validated that the values in the Prima guide are accurate. Some damage HO's just do raw damage. I've "heard" that the "Tier" of the CA used to finish those determines the size of the hit. Inconclusive testing shows this is possibly true.

I had a predator friend for a while who claimed that finishing off ringing blow with one of his DOT moves (bleed or impale?) would make the ringing blow damage tick multiple times (same number of ticks as the DOT) -- but since swashbucklers don't have any DOT moves outside of training, I've yet to be able to confirm or deny.. Anyone?I'm aware that such a behavior is undoubtedly a bug, but am shy to /bug it before I've seen it myself.

<DIV>I have both of the training DoT moves and I don't believe I've noticed that to be true with either of them.  I'll test it the next time I log on to be sure.  There's also the chance that it's something only Predators can do.  Can he get you some logs with that damage happening?</DIV>

<DIV>Syrano, have you tried it out to see if the Tier of the CA affects Ringing blow damage? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for the DoT issue, I haven't noticed it either. I have always been finishing HO with Quick Strike, but I'm finishing it with the Bludgeon training special you get a lvl20 and haven't noticed any difference.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm currentlly lvl 21, and I've never seen Ringing Blow do more than 83 dmg.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now, fighting green^ group mobs (lvl 1<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, HO does about 66 dmg.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone else getting drastically different results with their HO at similar levels?</DIV>

I'd ask him, but he quit at level 19 because he could solo red solo mobs or blue group encounters and felt like the game was trivial (oh the irony). One of these days I'll have my predator alt up high enough to try, though, by which point I'll do so.
