bard or rogue?

Do bards and rogs do similar dps? and if not how much more or less is it? because even if it's close i dont see how swash can compete with bards (dirge or toubadoors) when they do same dps plus have awsome group buffs like proc buffs, mana regen, then they get charms ans fears and tons of other utility.
