<DIV> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff size=3>There is an ongoing debate throughout Norrath on which of the two terms—‘<I><FONT color=#ffff00>more than a lot</FONT>’, </I>or ‘<I><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot more than</FONT></I>’—are of greater quantity. Two parties share completely different views on the matter. <STRONG><FONT color=#66ccff>The Ultimate Adventurer's Guide to Norrath </FONT></STRONG>has this to say on the subject:</FONT></SPAN></P> <P><SPAN><FONT size=3><FONT color=#ffffff><FONT color=#ffffcc>There are those who view the term</FONT><FONT color=#ffffcc> ‘</FONT><EM><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot</FONT></EM><FONT color=#ffffcc>’ in a vague and general sense where ‘</FONT><FONT color=#ffff00><I>a</I> <I>lot</I></FONT><FONT color=#ffffcc>’ is an undefined amount, but obviously must be more than a few. They are known as the </FONT><FONT color=#66ff00>Normal Party</FONT>.<FONT color=#ffffcc> According to the </FONT><FONT color=#66ff00>Normal Party</FONT><FONT color=#ffffcc>, while both ‘</FONT><I><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></I><FONT color=#ffffcc>’ and ‘</FONT></FONT><FONT color=#ffff00><I>a lot</I></FONT><FONT color=#ffffcc>’ can be an infinite amount, it is only ‘<I><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></I>’ that could quite possibly be as few as one. In the same way that one could not tie an additional rope to the end of an infinitely long rope—seeing as there is no end to something infinite in which to tie anything to—one cannot add to an infinite amount. Thus, in order for ‘<I><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot</FONT></I>’ to be considered as an infinite amount it cannot be followed by an additional amount. On the other hand, if ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot</EM></FONT>’ is preceded by another quantity then ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot</EM></FONT>’ remains an infinite amount. Following this line of logic the <FONT color=#66ff00>Normal Party </FONT>states that equation of <FONT color=#ffffff>A LOT</FONT> <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> <FONT color=#ffffff>MORE </FONT>is the lesser amount since: <STRONG>A</STRONG>) ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot</EM></FONT>’ is made finite by the addition of ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></EM>’; and <STRONG>B</STRONG>) '<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></EM>' could quite possibly be as few as one. So clearly the proven mathematical equation to the argument is the following polynomial inequality:</FONT></FONT></SPAN></P> <P align=center><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff size=3><STRONG>MORE <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> A LOT <FONT color=#66ff00>></FONT>A LOT <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> MORE</STRONG></FONT></SPAN></P> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffcc size=3>Then you have those who view the term ‘<I><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot</FONT></I>’ in a direct physical sense with ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>lot</FONT></EM>’ meaning a specified zone of land, as in “I built my house on ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot</FONT></EM>’ I own up in Freeport”. They are referred to as the <FONT color=#66ff00>Annoyingly Materialistic Party</FONT>, whose supporters tend to have an abnormal feeling self-importance and are often filthy rich. They claim that the more money a person has the larger the '<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>lot</EM></FONT>' they could own. So technically ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>a lot</FONT></EM>’ could be as large as the world of Norrath itself-that is if one had enough coin. While ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot</EM></FONT>’ in this sense is obviously finite (it can only be as large as the surface of Norrath), ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></EM>’ can be ever so infinite. Being the materialistic people that they are, and always interested in increasing their possessions, the <FONT color=#66ff00>Annoyingly Materialistic Party </FONT>believes that it is possible to inject ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>more</EM></FONT>’ into the largest ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>lot</FONT></EM>’ possible (the whole of Norrath), to expand the surface. Since ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>more</FONT></EM>’ can be infinite, they say, you can infinitely expand the largest ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>lot</FONT></EM>’ possible, thus making '<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot</EM></FONT>' infinite as well, and the combination of two infinite amounts is obviously larger then than the combination of a finite amount and an infinite amount. Clearly, the correct answer is the following polynomial inequality:</FONT></SPAN></P> <P align=center><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff size=3><STRONG>MORE <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> A LOT <FONT color=#66ff00><</FONT>A LOT <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> MORE</STRONG></FONT></SPAN></P> <P><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffcc size=3>A hearing was held between the governmental agencies of Norrath in order to come to an official decision on which was the greater amount. Not surprisingly, scientific proof was disregarded when the rather mid-class political officials in charge of the hearing suddenly were able to purchase twenty-room mansions in luxurious downtown Qeynos. Upon purchase of their new homes it was deemed ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot more than</EM></FONT>’ was obviously the greater amount. This was official decision until an over-egocentric politician thought he could bribe the Queen into giving him South Qeynos for a birthday present, at which point she became severely annoyed with materialist people and deemed that both ‘<EM><FONT color=#ffff00>more than a lot</FONT></EM>’ and ‘<FONT color=#ffff00><EM>a lot more than</EM></FONT>’ would equal one-hundred and forty-two. This sent both the <FONT color=#66ff00>Normal Party </FONT>and the <FONT color=#66ff00>Annoyingly Materialistic Party</FONT> into fits of pouting and they slowly dissipated into wisps of nothingness. There are reports of underground movements of both parties, but this is pure speculation and rumor. As it stands now-as stated by the highest authority-the correct answer to the inequality is as follows:</FONT></SPAN></P> <P align=center><SPAN><FONT color=#ffffff size=3><STRONG>MORE <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> A LOT <FONT color=#66ff00>=</FONT> 142 <FONT color=#66ff00>=</FONT> A LOT <FONT color=#66ffff>+</FONT> MORE</STRONG></FONT></SPAN></P> <P><FONT color=#ffffff><FONT face=Verdana size=3></FONT></FONT> </P> <P><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffffff size=2></FONT> </P> <P><FONT color=#ffffff><FONT face=Verdana size=2></FONT></FONT></P> <HR> <STRONG><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Great info every adventurer needs!<BR></FONT></STRONG><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=104&message.id=997" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>UAG2N: The Methods of Making Money (pg 4,532,871)</FONT></A><BR><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=1257" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>UAG2N: Aggressive Fish of Norrath (pg 128,477)</FONT></A><BR><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=1255" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>UAG2N: Time and Suspended Animation (pg 32) **ooc: lag**</FONT></A><BR><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tales_lore&message.id=74" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>UAG2N: The Importance of a Fork (pg 17)</FONT></A><BR><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=3216#M3216" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>UAG2N: Boglwe of the Willow Wood Docks (pg 543)</FONT></A><FONT size=2><FONT face=Verdana><FONT color=#ffcc00> </FONT><BR></FONT></FONT><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=2477" target=_blank><FONT face=Verdana color=#ffcc00 size=2>I Need Help: Rics of the UAG2N</FONT></A><FONT face=Verdana size=2> <BR> <HR> </FONT></DIV>
