First let me say that I don’t know much about EQ lore, so much of what I am about to write may not be as eloquent as some of the people here are used to.

I was traveling through the Enchanted Lands yesterday, looking to see if anything interesting PvP-wise was going on. Showing no one of importance, I continued down the beach till I was close to the “Fae Isle”. I was standing on the beach reapplying my see stealth and invis totems when I see in my chat, “An Ancient Seeker begins to scribble notes into a leaf-bound tome”.

Thinking to myself, I realize that I have never heard of an Ancient Seeker, so I look around to see what it was, but was unable to see anything until I hit Track. I followed the ribbon just up the hill and down to the island with all the Fae. There, standing (or hiding) near a tree was a normal looking Halfling looking quite out of place.

I decided to see if this was a new quest or something, so I hailed him and proceeded to talk about a great dragon that fell from the sky clutching moondust in it’s claws and how he will be relentlessly perused by an ancient evil from the depths of the home of the Fae.

I asked who it was, but the answer was something like “You are not ready for such knowledge.” Actually, most of his answers were that.

The last option for chatting to him was something like “where can I find this knowledge” and his answer was something like “Seek the books of A’non (or it could have been A’kron or something that sounds like that).

After that he starts to lament that he has been found and needs my help (I still did not get a quest for my journal). After a few seconds, 2 level 60 ^^ dark elves pop and proceed to beat the crap out of him. Now, I’m only level 40 and the dark elves were scowling so I started running but was quickly one-shotted by one of the dark elves. After I died the dark elves said something like “The master will be pleased” and despawned.

Now I went back and waited around for about 2 hours but the Halfling did not respawn. I’ve searched the quest sections on various websites but have not been able to find anything in regards to this.

I’m bringing up this question here because I’m more curious about what the halfling was hinting to and perhaps all the Lore-minded people here could give some answers.

Grim

Interesting, I'll have to check this out later today. If this is part of the build up to EoF, then 'the Master' the dark elves talked about would probably be Mistmoore. Makes you wonder what his latest plan is...

I went to the Enchanted Lands today and didn't find anything. To the OP: do you think you could provide coordinates for the place where he appeared? I want to make sure I'm looking in the right place. Also, would you happen to remember the names of the dark elves in this little event? I have the beginings of a hunch about this being tied to other events.

If you follow the beach around the southern point, you will come to a little island; if you reach the waterfall, then you’ve gone too far.

I went there last night but instead of the Halfling, the two Dark Elves were there. They were called “Mistmoore Assassins” and the model for them seemed a little different than the regular Dark Elf. I stayed out of range and watched them for a bit. They said “The Master will be pleased” then despawned, so I can only guess that someone had somehow triggered the event. I asked the zone if anyone had triggered a Halfling to spawn, but no one seemed to know what I was talking about.

I walked closer to the tree where the Halfling once stood and saw a page on the ground and went to pick it up, but it was gone before I could harvest it. Maybe I missed this page the first time I was there, I’m not too sure though.

If anyone has more information, please let me know, as this is driving me CRAZY!

Grim

OH, I forgot to add that before they said that their master would be pleased, they said something about a Crystaline Shard or sword.. Bah I should have taken screen shots.

Message Edited by Grimquester on 11-03-2006 04:03 AM

A crystal sword....I wonder if they are refering to the second sword mentioned in the Claymore line. The other "Sword of Destiny"

If they were called Mistmoore Assassins then it's clearly obvious it's related to EoF.

yeah i dont really think anyone is questioning its involvement with EoF...the timing and content speaks for itself. I think we are more concerned with figuring it out its meaning before we have all the pieces than stating how something named Mistmoore could be related to wel...Mistmoore...

If the new HQs involve older zones the first and probably to obvious guess would be the oracle robe, but the mention of the shard/sword would detract from that. Hopefully this means that more info/lore related to OOT if not OOT itself making it into EoF.

I went searching in Enchanted Lands this morning. I searched all around the Fae Island, and near the Spires, in the Lazy Drain, and even out to sea by the sunken tree trunks, and could not find anything at all.

Was this a triggered spawn, or perhaps a GM event?

I have some questions about the location. The first statement marks the location as the Fae Isle. From the second line taken from your second post it gets a little fuzzy (for me). Pulling up the map it shows that the southern most point of the zone is past the direct line of where the waterfall is located. Are you saying if you continued around the isle the coast (looping back towards the west) then you have gone to far, thus insuring the location is Fae Isle? Also... was the Halfling invised or stealthed to start and you saw him because of your buffs/ totems you were using?

Is it possible that they only appear at sertain time?

Due to the lack of anymore info from the op i think it might be a hoax i sat there last night for 3 norrath days and nothing.

So it seems doubtful that this is true and if it was true seems weird that it only happened once and hasn't happened again.

I agree, I think more then one person would have found it by now if it was true.

Just because I feel bad for you egg-heads, I'm going to let you off the hook.

I made the story up based on quasi-lore I had read about years ago based on the Tome of Ages quest as well as a story about how Mayong was searching for a shard of Veeshan's claw that had broken off when she had scarred the face of Norrath. He was consumed by the rumours of it and that it was the only thing that could kill the Sleeper.

Hope you didn't lose too much sleep, but I do hope it added a little mix to your day other than the same old boring fight about who [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] the Dark Elves into the bowels of Norrath...

Grim

Grim,

You should have put that post on a fan fiction site, or have added a caveat. Some people wasted a good amount of time following your will o' wisp. Something that is not likely to endear you to those on this board. Nor will your next post likely be taken seriously.

To give credit, you did come clean, and I thank you for that.
