<DIV>For those who have yet to complete the Fallen Dynasty quest series, this might be a tiny spoiler, so read with caution:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Chel'drak is a giant half-turtle/half-dragon beast. We learn in the Fallen Dynasty that Zebuxoruk entrusted Chel'drak to guard a part of his essence long ago, which is why he has lost his memory... up until you kill Chel'drak and free this essence. The fall of old Tanaan is also related to this beast and the "knowledge" that he held. But, nothing is ever stated about where Chel'drak came from. As far as I know, there was nothing even remotely similar to him in EQLive. We know that he exists in his own dimension, more or less, as you have to use a special rift/portal device to gain access to his lair. This is possibly how Zeb got to him in the first place... being the Ungod, he would have knowledge of such dimensions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, basically, all we know about Chel'drak is that Zebuxoruk saw the exodus of the Gods and gave Chel'drak a portion of his essence to guard until the time was right for it to be released... not much. However, as I was running an alt through the Claymore quest line today, I decided to hail the Norrathian Times Correspondent over in the Qeynos Camp in Tenebrous Tangle. Among some jibberish such as "Flash! Queen Antonia to wed Lord Nagafen!" and "Flash! Evil rich ratongas take over Kaladim and turn it into a casino!" were two lines that caught my eye:</DIV> <DIV>"Flash! That's no moon!"</DIV> <DIV>and</DIV> <DIV>"Flash! Giant turtle dragon hatches from Luclin!"</DIV> <DIV>after hearing the two lines again, I remembered hearing them back at KoS release. So they were definitely in-game pre-Fallen Dynasty.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, personally I think this is jibberish like the rest of the stuff this guy says... but I couldn't help being very intrigued by it. Is it possible that Chel'drak layed dormant deep within Luclin... hence "hatched" from the moon? So far, I haven't been able to COMPLETELY disprove the ideal... which is what I try to do when I encounter something I think is unbelievable. I still doubt this is the case.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, even if it's not true, which it probably isn't... what ARE Chel'drak's origins? Exactly where did this beast come from, anyways?</DIV>

<DIV>Possible? Sure. Ever going to be revealed? Don't count on it. The Norrathian Enquirer is just as fake as the National Enquirer...</DIV>

<DIV>Pffft!!! It's the number one source of news on Norrath!!! They go deep to find the truth so WE don't have to.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>By the way, did you hear that Matsy Rollingpin's secret recipe was found... and it calls for 2 pounds of Beastlord meat!!! So THAT'S where they went!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Enquiring minds need to know!!!</DIV>

Look at the Ring of Faith, he hinted about 3 medallions, he hinted about Claymore, and possible even more in the past. So, the keeper of Secrets gives hints about on-going content, but the Enquirer gives hints about events which happened not to long ago (news is allways a day or two behind, except the internet-news).<BR>And because Norrath doesn't have any high-tech communication technologies, news might take longer to be transfered. So only now the news about Chel'Drak has reached his ears and he could be hinting about where he came from.<BR><BR>With the hints from various NPC's the new expansion/adventure packs have been revealed (items also). So maybe, this Enquirer slowly gives more and more hints about upcoming events or gives help to those seeking information about previous events.

What does that Turtledragon look like? Does he have a spiked shell like the Turepta in Taelosia (and in the Serpant Spine mountains)? Or a regular shell?Wonder if he'd be related to Ice Clad's giant turtle Loadizal?<div></div>

<P>from the shell back, he looks like a turtle. Turtle feet, turtle shell, turtle tail... </P> <P>very long neck, dragon head. Looks alot like a chinese - style dragon from one of their year-of-the-dragon parades. He's grey in color though.</P> <P>We call him the Turgon.</P> <P>I kinda doubt he's related to Lodizal.</P> <P>Here's a pic of him on Club Fu's site (from Blackburrow) <A href="http://eq2.clubfu.net/" target=_blank>http://eq2.clubfu.net/</A></P> <P>(second pic down - first one is us having kicked his butt)</P> <P> </P>
