So it sounds like from this post that we might be seeing him once again in his castle. Also note the reference to the League of Freethinkers.... We already know from some dialogue there that there is a hunting party who met up in Mistmoore Castle. What they were doing there or why they felt called to go there is still a mystery.

Well then, if Jindrack is hinting that Mayong himself is that vampire who really REALLY doesn't like to be disturbed, then it's already on it's way to proving that EQlive's Depths of Darkhollow expansion never took place, which is just how I want it.

We still have 3 months before we find out though...

If it is Mayong, do you think he will be someone people will actually be killing? If it were me, Mayong would be set up like Nagafen, you can try to kill him, but you're going to be a smear on the wall in five seconds. It seems like a disservice to him if he was set up to be anything less. Also, do you think the storyline will be touching on his rivalry with the League of Antonican Bards? I never quite understood why they were specifically his enemies.

You're right, he could be meaning them. *edit* So far all I can find so far on the reason for the rivalry is that the Ring of Scale, Mayong, and The League were all opposing factions. (kill one and raise the other two). The League was in good with Claws of Veeshan which opposed Ring of Scale, but that still doesn't really explain their problems with Mayong.

Message Edited by RaphaNissi on 09-01-2006 08:34 AM

He's been manipulating events on Faydwer behind the scenes for centuries. I agree with the other poster, make him like Naggy. Attack him if you'd like, but be ready to join his army after the fight :pActually, that would be pretty cool if he had an ability that after he killed you your corpse then became a vampire that would start to attack your former party...

Mayong wasn't a true God until mortals raided his demi-plane and killed him, which allowed him to become one.

After going back and talking to Kalagari in the Peacock Club, I'm thinking the League refers to the League fo Freethinkers. Kalagari mentions that they made an attempt on killing the master of the Loping Plains (I figure that's Mistmoore himself) but that he "is not susceptible to the mark of the Freethinkers as his minions are." Are the Freethinkers vampire killers? What mark could he be talking about? When you talk to Annia, she says that they "left their mark that dark night in the Loping Plains." On a side note, notice they said the master isn't "as susceptible" and not "invulnerable." Maybe with the help of the Freethinkers, we will be able to fight Mayong Mistmoore.

In the first EQ game for PS2 he was helping a Orc that you chase(who later you find out is really a Dark Elf servent of innoruk who wishes to break the planar barriers with some horn)into his castle. He had creepy undead things that whiped their tounges in circles before or during battle, well anyway....He was "killable" but really he just got his butt kicked so he droped his loot(which I saved scumed and got like 100 times to get my full suit of golden effreti armor) and flew away....

Does PS2 games count atleast as partial lore?

The vampire you are thinking about is not mayong he was another vampire named Vanarhost who had a castle in the underfoot and had some sort of deal with the orc.
