<DIV>Does anyone have some lore on this signature quest? I was just wondering if this quest could indicate that maybe we are going to have to join with Kerafym in the expansion to stop Veeshan from destroying him and the world? A lot has been written in pondering the expansion but most people so far think we need to stop the awakened prismatic dragon. This quest seems like we are trying to prove ourselves worthy enough to join with him! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Blaloch</DIV><p>Message Edited by Blaloch on <span class=date_text>08-31-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:58 AM</span>

<DIV>Well, Signiture quests are EQ2's own version of a heritage quest. They introduce a new item that didn't exist in the past. The Lore kinda starts right there with the quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As it stands with the Mark of the Awakened, it's basicly a symbol that shows the droags that you are just as strong as the strongest among them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nothing to do with the return of Kerafyrm (which doesn't make sense that we would join up with a dragon who wants to destroy the world in order to stop the very God who gave life to Norrath in the first place from destroying it first...)</DIV>

<DIV>I believe the Mark of Awakening is a symbol to show you rank among the dragons. This is why there were dragon themes all throughout the quest (particularly the Trial of Spirit). There was the speech by the exiled droag, who says that possessing the mark would prove yourself an equal with the dragons. This is why he pursued it, to become greater than a servant of dragonkind. I did not save the Keeper's speeches sadly. However, he speaks of how the droag will now jealously regard your power and status (on completing the quest) considering you are not born of scale but have attained the honours.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for the lore during the quest, it is a wonderful recap of the dragons in KoS. The books mention Harla Dar, Lord Vyemm, and a mystery entity, detailing their power and sacrifice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did not find lore with in the quest pertaining to prismatic dragons, unless a primatic dragon is the mysterious entity (who is implied to have died in the Book of Sacrifice). It would be unusual if it refers to Kerafym, considering this is a named character and the name is not used. However, it might fit the type considering Nagafen's claims Kerafym gave his life to save the world from Luclin's shattering.</DIV>

However, after completing the Claymore quest series, I'm inclined to think differently. I was down at the forge in Sanctum the other day helping a friend do some heritage quests, and the book that's next to the forge that you read for the Mark quest (the one that talks about the "mysterious entity") was still readable to me... so I clicked on it just to recall what all it said.... and I'm pretty sure that "mysterious entity" is referring to Aaryonar, the dragon spirit that guards the Palace of Awakening.</DIV>

I don't know. I'm not sure Veeshan will be very happy with her creation and the meddling of the other gods. It seems to me that Veeshan would more readily destroy the whole world while Kerafym only wants dominion? <FONT color=#000000 size=3>d</FONT>

She hasn't returned since. She doesn't care about Norrath or the affairs of the other gods, and its Kerafyrm who wants to destroy the world.

<P>Here is what the exiled draog says to you when you start the "Mark of the Awakened" quest:</P> <P> </P> <P>an exiled droag says to you,"Well, what have we here? A wanderer? A great warrior? A poet? What are you, and why do you come to bother me? Is my failure not already enough?"<BR>You say, "Hail, An exiled droag"<BR>You say to an exiled droag,"Whoa, whoa, slow down. I can only answer one at a time."</P> <P><BR>an exiled droag says to you,"Then perhaps we shall start with this one - why do you bother me?"</P> <P>You say to an exiled droag,"I'm not sure. I felt sort of drawn here. Maybe you have something that you're supposed to tell me."</P> <P><BR>an exiled droag says to you,"I have nothing to tell but my own tale. Though it pains me to relate it, I shall do so if you wish. Perhaps my lessons can teach you."</P> <P>You say to an exiled droag,"Alright, I'm listening."</P> <P><BR>an exiled droag says to you,"I belong to a proud race, and I have failed. I rose up, out of my place, and attempted something which should not be done by those not of the true blood."</P> <P><BR> You say to an exiled droag,"True blood?"</P> <P><BR>an exiled droag says to you,"Dragonkind. My race is but a steward, we are here merely to serve and protect that which we are assigned guardianship over. I sought to further my own role - to develop a true kinship with my betters. Alas, I have failed."</P> <P><BR>You say to an exiled droag,"How did you fail?"</P> <P><BR>an exiled droag says to you,"Exactly how, I cannot say. Suffice it to say that my trials were not successful. You should learn from this. Do not attempt that which you cannot succeed."</P> <P><BR>You say to an exiled droag,"Can I take part in these trials?"</P> <P>an exiled droag a says to you,"You? I do not think so. However, there was one Erudite who had been attempting them. Perhaps he has had more success than even I. I do not know for certain."</P> <P><BR>You say to an exiled droag,"Where can I find out more?"</P> <P>an exiled droag says to you,"Seek out the book he left behind in the Sanctum of the Scaleborn, my old home. I am certain he was writing works on the dragons themselves, but I know not what he has discovered."<BR></P> <P>You say to an exiled droag,"Thanks. I wish you luck. I'll try and find out more about this Erudite."</P>
