I'm considering selecting Cazic Thule as the diety for one of my alts when Faydwer goes live. I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the lore behind the diety.

Message Edited by Astralmage on 08-26-2006 05:16 AM

*sigh* again with that website...

Anyway, yes, thats pretty much the gist of things. Cazic Thule created all races reptillian as well as the Trolls in a joint effort with Innoruuk. (which is why the swamp the trolls lived in is called Inno-Thul).

I know that trolls had the option of following Inny, but I've only heard Cazic mentioned as their creator

The only references I've heard of Innoruuk's involvement was during the pre-beta lore that said they migrated from Kunark (defunct) and the lore for Legacy of Ykesha that said that Innoruuk swayed several of them to join his side.

Did you know Cazic was originally supposed to be represented as a large pile of goo? Crazy!

Yeah it is Pre-Beta lore, but it was said that Cazic Thule allowed Innoruuk to slightly shape the race anyway he wanted, so he chose in his image (which is why they're green and have huge pointed noses, sharp teeth, and no hair).

Whether or not this lore was debunked when beta started, the fact remained that the trolls could worship Innoruuk as a diety choice and the Innothul Swamp's name speaks for itself.

Two of them actually!

In EQOA near the undead frogloks I saw these guys roaming around like they were guards.

Hmm.. The Fungoid races like the Zygomids, the Sporali, and the Myconids are quite an enigma themselves.

I think they're just aggresive mushroom creatures for the most part. So far they haven't shown any major signs of sentients in EQ2, though there were a few in Everquest who could communicate in common tongue. The Reishi in particular up on Luclin.

There are aggressive molds and fungi in the real world. I can justify the Zygomids and the Myconids being aggresive for thier own purposes.

When Runneyeye recieved a revamp in EQlive, a race of fungus men called the Sporali appeared in the mid regions of the zone. It was explained that they weren't being enslaved or anything like that. They just kinda live there, and they tend to keep to themselves, although the goblins managed to make a mutual use out of them.

I don't think they worship any gods, but then again not enough is known about them to find out if they do or not.

Message Edited by Cusashorn on 08-28-2006 06:26 PM

Don't know about the Norrathian fungoids, but the Luclinite ones were Luclin's own unique attempt at creating a sustainable, rapidly evolving ecosystem.
