At present, I'm writing a fanfiction set around the Fallen Dynasty questline, except after writing one chapter based around the stage where you earn your way into the Tower of Four Winds, I'm realising that what works for an RPG storyline doesn't work so well for fanfiction because it comes across as padding in the latter case. I've already tried to be ruthless in keeping only what was necessary to understand the story, but chapter 1 still comes across as very, very long.

My question to people who are familiar with the storyline is this -

Of everything in the Fallen Dynasty questline, what stages or cutscenes would you consider absolutely essential to understanding the storyline? What parts would you keep if you were in my position of writing up the adventure pack as a fanfiction?

What I meant was -

What scenes need to be shown in their original cutscene format and what can be summarized in a small paragraph without loosing important plot points?

Cut scnens or montages? Playing Diplomat between the houses cut scene maybe just the end part of it... Watching the children practice with one of the Wistling Fist Teachers spread it out here and there. I'm only up to the third floor for the tower myself, need to find a Rift group sometime.
