Has anyone ever managed to correctly guess the password of this book in Tribulations? I guessed incorrectly all 3 times and was a little disheartened that the book would actually remember me from the last time I went to the zone, so I couldn't try again to see if any of the other 3 choices were correct.

I attempted all the choices, by running far enough to "break" the conversation after I had reached the end of all the branches. One hypothesis: there is no right answer, and he's just there to set up the rest of the zone, telling you where to find Everling.(The Cauldron, also a seeming dead end, is pretty funny...and Tinmizer's Army was completely unresponsive to me)

Well, maybe I didn't follow every combination, but I did get every choice at least once.
I haven't gotten any where near the end of the zone yet, but I am curious: Have you tried shouting a password? Like, maybe "Password" or "Rikantus" or "Vul" - something that might make sense but is not on the list? The tome did say shouting the old password was the key... I would not be surprised if the correct choice was not on the list of options at all, and that actually shouting the correct word is the solution.

My 2cp.

Lyriel

The quest system doesn't work like that.

You're obviously going to have to find the password in order to get it as an option. Every option you get starts with "Umm" indicating the character is just guessing.

Either that or it's just a red herring.

Also, the whole "shouting" bit is only to reset the password. And only the book master can reset the password. And the book master is Everling, not us.

Just to confirm, shouting the password didn't work.

my only guess is to search the castle for a clickable item or something that may give you an image or pop something. then perhaps you'll be flagged to answer correctly through your "experiance or findings". Or perhaps you needed to kill someone to get it, like the updates you got when you kill the orc in CL for Lightsone HQ...?
