<DIV>I rarely travelled to the continent of Faydwer during my time on EQLive. Every character I owned was a Dark Elf, and besides the few romps to and through Castle Mistmoore, I pretty much left my high elf and wood elf cousins to their happy treetop parties. I was looking through a map of Faydwer earlier and noticed that much of the island (about 25%) was not represented in EQLive at all. One of these areas that caught my interest was the Loping Planes. After watching the EoF teaser trailer, I heard that we'd actually have a chance to visit this area in EQLive. To me, this is very exciting news. I love uncovering places that were part of EQLive, but without new areas to see and adventure in, this sometimes feels boring.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This brings me to the question.... is there any lore from EQLive or elsewhere about the uncharted parts of Faydwer that we will get the opportunity to see in the upcoming expansion? Namely, the Loping Plains... but anything at all would be appreciated :smileyvery-happy:  My curiosity needs a good whetting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EDIT: WHOOOO! Green name. I have to stop posting now... that fits the Irish Wonder too well :smileyvery-happy:</DIV><p>Message Edited by IrishWonder on <span class=date_text>08-09-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:04 AM</span>

<DIV>nah those areas were pretty much non-existant in EQlive. We haven't heard anything yet if anything similar to it will be in EQ2 yet.</DIV>

<DIV>In the teaser trailer, Blackguard statues that the Loping Planes will be a zone in EoF.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There was no lore on it in EQLive? The map I looked at was from EQLive, and the Loping Planes was labelled. I figured it must have been a zone that just never made it into the game... but thought for sure there'd be some lore about it laying around somewhere (along with much of the rest of the map that wasn't represented in-game.... practically the southeastern half of Faydwer had no zones in-game).</DIV>

From what I've found, Castle Mistmoore rested on the edge of the Loping Planes.  The creatures there were said to be servants of Mayong Mistmoore.  There were rumors of orcs and hobgolins living in the area as well.  <div></div>

<P>The EQ table-top RPG speaks about the Loping Plains, and there are other non official references to it as well.</P> <P>The table-top RPG lists it as the home to the Shenba 'Dal Elves, (modeled along the lines of Gypsies), and the entire area is under the influence of Castle Mistmoore.</P> <P>It is supposedly the site of the climactic battle of the War of the Broken Crown, specifically in the 'province' of Aerignon which was in the Loping Plains.</P>

There seems to be a bit more lore about the Loping Planes if you can make it into the Peacock Club.<div></div>

Did some of the Dark Elf forces retreat to the Loping Plains after the War of the Fay?  I thought I read that somewhere, or it could just be more High Elf propaganda.
