<DIV>I have talked many different times about the different places, things, and creatures from EQOA that I hope would not cause controversy.  After having time to think I have come up with another little question or lore subject that I haven't seen talked about.  That is whatever happend to the Geomancer's Citadel that was seen within EQOA.  I remember going to this area very rarely and it was something very unique being ruled by Elemental creatures of rock, air, fire, and water. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Who actually created the Geomancer's citadel and what was its true purpose in EQOA also later on down the line? A final question is did the Geomancer's citadel manage to survive the Shattering perhaps like the Fayspire tower or was it destroyed?</DIV>

<DIV>Comparing the maps of EQoA with the maps from EQ Live, it appears that the Geomancer's Citadel, (from EQoA), lies off the map in EQ Live.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is southwest of the South Karana zone, and northwest of the Lake Rathe zone.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I believe that Geomancy was first studied by the Elder Elves as a way to try to save what was happening to the Elddar Forest, and to try to save Takish 'Hiz from the encroaching sands.  Eventually it transformed both the Elves using it, and the city itself into what is represented by the Lost Dungeon of Norrath zone of Takish 'Hiz.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Karana Plains, (or what is left of them), are represented in EQ2 as the Thundering Steppes.  As far as I can tell however, (based on the location of the Centaurs in the Steppes), that any remaining part of the Southern Plains of Karana now lie near the Coldwind Coast.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is no trace of the Aviak Village in EQ2, and the zone ends just south of Sundered Splitpaw.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is no trace of Lake Rathe in EQ2, and the Rathe Mountains are only hinted at as a chain of islands representing the tops of the tallest peaks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This leads me to believe that the area of Norrath which contained the Geomancer's Citadel, (from EQoA), is now submerged somewhere to the southwest of the Thundering Steppes.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Mary the Prophetess on <span class=date_text>08-08-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:45 AM</span>

<DIV>There were many, MANY structures and villages in EQOA that didn't exist in EQlive or now. I've never heard of the Geomancer's Tower before, but I don't play EQOA so such a thing is to be expected.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>hmmm.. come to think of it, I wonder if it's related to that tower in the Sea of Twilight on Luclin? It was located on an island full of elementals.</DIV>

<DIV>Geo mancers was not in EQlive i guess.. however it and the area near it are talked about in EQ2... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The book w/ 1001 stories in MajDul talked about the area in which we knew it in EQoA of the same name, the "Dead Hills" which were more south of Geomancer's and while i dont think the Geomancers pass/citadel name was directly used in the story it would seem about the right timeframe and it has the same strange characteristics for the story, the golem crafter in the story (if memory serves me) worked in creating the citadel, back before Tak hiz had fallen..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It was south of the Karana plains/Raethe mountain range west of the Feerott, from what i was told from EQ1 vets that area was inaccessable in EQLive.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Porkchop133 on <span class=date_text>08-09-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:37 AM</span>

Thanks for the map Mary it deffinately helps out in what i'm looking at.  At first I thought the "Stone of Morthalis" is what I was talking about but it didn't match how I remember getting to the Geomancer Citadel.  However now that I see the 2nd side of the map connected to the primary continent indeed there is the Geomancer Citadel there.  I also remember passing through Geomancer's Pass in order to get to the Geomancer Citadel which was deffinately a trek in and of itself.  Another curious question while looking at this map is what exactly happened to the 3 sphinxs that were located in the Frontiers area that gave the quest to access the plane of sky?

The Sphinxs from EQoA, were a part of the Rathe Mountains zone in EQ Live.  It also seems as if the location of 'Stoneclaw' in EQoA, lines up pretty well with 'Splitpaw' in EQ Live and EQ2.

<P>Those Sphinxes are up to something, I tells ya. :smileysurprised:</P> <P> </P> <P>There was 2 in EQLive in the Rathe Mts.  Ankhefenmut and Zazamoukh.  And I swear I've seen a reference or two to Ankhefenmut in EQ2.  Can't remember where though.  And thanks for that Map, I had yet to see a good EQOA map.</P>
