In the announced EQ1 expansion, the Drakkan is a player race that is formed from a mixture of dragon blood and other races to fight for the interests of dragonkind.Does this eventually become the Droag?

NO the Drakkin are formed directly after the events of Dragons of Norrath which is WAY after the EQ2 timeline splits off DRAKKINS=NOTHING in EQ2...lets get that straight now

Message Edited by Themaginator on 07-12-2006 09:32 AM

OOC: Two completely seperate timelines, two completely seperate development teams, two completely seperate story-lines. I doubt there is, or will be, a relation between this new race springing from EverQuest Live to the current Lore and Story of EverQuest II.

Yep. It's safe to say at this point that the Drakken really is a race that will *NEVER* be introduced into EQ2 (Ment EQ2, not EQlive.) The Serpentspine Mountains website says itself that this race has just litterally been introduced to the face of Norrath right now. There's no way they can apply.

Message Edited by Cusashorn on 07-12-2006 02:05 PM

Pfft, EQ2 will get Sarnak as our draconic race, who wants a dragon mixed with other races when you can have a dragon mixed with the BEST race. Although the flying Froglok-Dragons the Iksar invented would be cool too..... so would a Drafling.

You'd think we'd actually end up seeing him in the game though.

Ah yes, the Sokokar... products of the old Emperor Atrebe Sathir's experiments. Magnificent beasts, from what i've read, and an aid to the end of the war between the Ring and the Empire of Sebilis. A pity they are all but extinct... or, supposedly extinct. I believe i have a few notes regarding Atrebe's experiments somewhere around here...

When we encounter creatures formed from the melding of others through rituals of dark science, we more than likely are encountering the legacy of Emperor Atrebe. The late emperor was a great scientist. He delved into areas few before him dared to venture. It is believed by most of the great mages and scientists that Atrebe gained his dark knowledge from elder texts of the shissar. Most of his biological experiments created atrocities of nature. He personally created such creatures as the sarnak and the sokokar, the former of which included experiments upon his own people.

When Emperor Atrebe perished in the midst of one of his foulest experiments, his knowledge and his workshop went with him... or so we believed. There is evidence to prove that ancient texts of Emperor Atrebe have been discovered and now linger within the shadows of Norrath. There are rumors the creation of creatures such as the droag originated from these ancient texts. Freeportian babble has been going around that the origin of the dragon pets we find in our homes, the drakling, are also products of mages that incorporated much of Atrebe's research. On Kunark, the ruins of the workshops of Kor-sha must have been unearthed by crypt raiders or explorers. The heretical science held within has been let loose upon Norrath.
