What is the difference in philosophy between paladins who follow Marr and the ones who follow Karna? I ask this because I am making a pally and am trying to find some sort of code for him to rp. I am a human from qeynos and am thinking of following Karna like the knights of thunder.

I want to think you guys in advance for your responses.

Which Marr? There are the twins -- Mithaniel (God of Valor) and Erollisi (Goddess of Love) -- as well as their father, Tarew, the Greater God of Water.

Also, you forgot the second 'a' in Karana :smileywink:

The Knights of Truth, found in Freeport 500 years ago, worshipped Mithaniel Marr -- the Truthbringer and God of Valor. They were very much like the Arthurian knights -- "might for right", supporter of the weak, loathed the liar and his lies. The majority of them were driven from Freeport or killed by Lucan following the Battle of Defiance.

The Knights of Thunder, found in Qeynos, worshipped Karana -- the Rain Keeper and God of Storms. Sincere, honest men and women, in my opinion, more likely to be knights-errant, traveling where the winds take them.

The Knights of Thunder, who worshiped Karana, God of Storms and Rain, were a guild of Paladins and Clerics from Qeynos who dedicated themselves to defending the Plains of Karana and other areas around Qeynos.

In a sense, they were like the druids and rangers of Surefall, in that they like to protect nature, yet they never really got themselves involved with the druids or rangers.

The Knights of Thunder also took an active role in investigating the presence of the Bloodsaber guild in the Qeynos Aquaducts.

Also don't forget that Quellious was worshipped by erudites and other paladins as was Prexxus, Quellious was about peace and finding your center of being to thus making yourself a balanced protector and Prexxus was about the power of the Ocean.

The Knights of Thunder followers of Karana (not Karna ) were also the ones who left Qeynos, and established Stormhold. There, one of their leaders brought back a blade that was cursed, which made Stormhold what it is today. You can find the Knights of Thunder guild hall in South Qeynos, still, though, but it has been boarded up. Another group of Paladins and clerics who hailed from Qeynos were the Priests of Life, who worshipped Rodcet Nife, the Prime Healer. His temple is the one you see today, the Temple of Life. The Priests of Life were didicated to healing those who were sick in mind, body, and soul, as well as helping those in need. The followers of Karana were known for being somewhat nomadic, and knew that storms were needed for life to prevail. Though times may get tough, if you prevail, life will be better for it. Followers of Mithaniel Marr are traditionally considered the epitomy of what a paladin is, fighting for Truth, Valor, and the Norrathian Way, or whatever you'd like to call it (perhaps the Norrathian Way is a bad example, would hate to see your character shoving people out of the way so that they could steal the named mob, or bot their way to level 70). Anyways, hope this helps.

The Knights of Thunder didn't abandon Qeynos though. They only built Stormhold so they could better protect Qeynos before a threat arrived at the city walls.

Too bad that the aquisition of the Bone Bladed Claymore would ultimately lead to thier demise from within thier own halls.

lets not forget that the followers of Rodcet Nife are sworn enemies to Bertoxxullus<sp?lol>, the plaguebringer.

Most human pallys i've seen would be followers of one of the marr family, usually mithaniel.

from what i have gathered pally's are like this:

Mithaniels's - All around good knights. Anti-evil.

Erollisi's - Concerned for the well being of others and the greater good of a people. Spread love and friendship.

Rodcet's - Caring knights, fight plague and disease and those that advocate it. Respectful of life.

Karana's - Nomadic knights. Wander around doing good. Valiant in battle. Respectful of nature.

Tarrew's - Knights of purity. Never tainted by evil. Very dutiful.

Just wondering where it comes from.
