Whats the link (if any) between shiny brass shield and shiny brass halbred

<DIV>I was just curious to see if there was any lore link between these two hq items. Keeping in mind that I'm relatively new to the lore scene and did not play and form of everquest prior to Everquest 2 I decided to do a search on the forums and didn't come up with anything related really.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would like to know whats the lore behind the two and the link if any between them as they would seem to be related by name. Not much else as one was in the hands of the thexians the other in the hands of the orcs. They obviously can't be considered a 'pair' at least by eq2 standards as the halbred is two handed. <P>The Shiny Brass Halberd was originally found on the Shraloc orcs that resided in Kithicor Forest before the Massacre, and were attempting daily to beseige HighPass Keep. </P> <P>The Shiny Brass Shield was originally found on the Orc Trainer in Crushbone, found off the Greater Faydark. </P> <P> </P> <P>The link being orcs, I suppose. The Dragoon merely procured it from an orc in his travels, I suppose. </P>

Hmm, well if I looted a "dull brass halbred" or a plain old "brass shield" that had good enough stats to bother keeping, I'd shine them up myself, making them a shiny brass halbred and shiny brass shield <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

In all seriousness, they were both pretty unrelated high-teens to mid-twenties weapons in the original Everquest. At the time they were pretty good, but they got blown away immedietly after Kunark was released... more or less the same fate as all of the current Heritage items, save the FBSS which remained pretty [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] good long afterwards.<div></div>

At one point they were among "the" items to get in your low levels. LOL, I remember many a camp fight over the orc trainer in the original Blackburrow <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. I still remember being so excited when I got my first SBS, ah the good old days... I think my pally still has it in fact LOL.

<DIV>Wish there was a quest like this in EQOA when I started out.  The only weapons we had that were a must were the rewards for doing our 20's, 30's, and 40's quest.  Our highest honor was doing the Epic Weaponry quest when we reached level 49-50 and o man was that a chore.  It would be similar to the Prismatic 1.0 quest line short style combined with the Prismatic 3.0 quest line.  You had to venture to point A kill 100+ monsters getting artifact 1 and doing this until you moved on to the 2nd phase of it which was like 7 updates later.  It was deffinatley worth it though cause the weapons were totally awesome.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really wish they would implement an epic line quest where each class gets it own specific epic weapon.  Then after you complete that quest and a new expansion is released they take those epic weapons then enhance them.  :smileywink:</DIV>
