Drammer Quickblade resides in the Commonlands diligently standing watch just outside of Elightenment Cemetary. He has been there for as long as I can remember. That's around 2 years, and probably from the launch of the game. My question is, does anyone know his purpose? He isn't a part of any quest I could ever find. Nor was he a part of any former class quest as I recall. He also wasn't involved with the old betrayal quests. So I'm curious, what is/was he for? After passing him around a thousand times, yet never being involved with his character, curiousity has finally done me in. What is Drammer Quickblade's purpose! Does anyone recall?

The only information I could find through searching was that he had an actor do his voice. Yet strangley, I don't recall him ever speaking. Was he yet another casualty in the ever shrinking list of quests and voices? Yes quests are often added, but many are also strangley removed.

Just very curious. Thanks. :smileyhappy:

Herein lies the sad tale of Drammer Quickblade:

Drammer is an orphan. Born sometime long ago upon the shores of Lake Nerius to parents unknown was this Dark Elf, "Drammer Quickblade". He struggled to survive amidst the rogue Owlbears, and appeared to be nothing special. That is until the day he first learned how fast his hands were... He became adept of stealing berries off the local shrubberies faster than any Owlbear could detect. Drammer not only had amazing skills of legerdemain, but could remain hidden for long periods of time such was his patience. As a teen, Drammer haunted the roads leading through Nektulous stealing everything he could from unwary travellers, caravans, even from the undead themselves! One day while waiting in the brush for some new victims, he overheard an interesting conversation. He learned his parents had been killed by High Elves of Qeynos and their only child had been tossed into Lake Nerius. He realized with alarm that he was this child! Jumping out of the brush his hand grasped the small rusty dagger he had taken from a skeleton just a few days prior. With incredible accuracy he took his revenge. Now he spends all his days at his parents tomb, seeking little more than a passing adventurer.

At least that's what I tell myself each time I pass by him :p

i played at release and i recall him being part of a quest back then. that was nearly 2 years ago and i dont ever recall doing the quest that involved him so i could be totally wrong. usually npc's involved in quests that you speak to are not attackable, such as kregnok. although he does turn attackable after turning in the quest, he is not before someone turns in the quest. drammar is always attackable and has been killed a few times by myself and others im sure. any recall if he has any text? can you hail him?

he had a voice over at one time?

Message Edited by Tarkin-Wretched on 07-11-2006 05:08 PM

I imagine he was once involved with a quest that many of us veterans have long forgotten. Being that his voice was probably quest related, it was likely removed. Odd that he was not. His level is also very odd. You dont see many level 12 double down named npc's.
