I know this dips a bit into EQ1, but I was wondering the details of Firiona Vie's capture and release from Vernil's minions, namely if Firiona Vie's rescuers ever found out that it wasnt Cabalis that took FV but Vernil Sathir and if they ever said "We're sorry for being [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] lighties" to the Cabalis Empire?

I have been researching this as well. Here is what I have found so far (not a great deal unfortunately)

===========================

There is lore about Firiona out there - she was withering away in her Felwithe tower when the Rallosian Army came'a'knockin'. Evindetly, after Tunare pulled back from the mortal realm, Firiona's power began the dwindle and her father hid her Paladin gear away in the castle. A mysterious, cloaked figure visited her one evening with news - news that gave her back her spark - and off she went. Thats where the story ended though... after that, I dont know.

This post found here

================================================== =======

From another poster, a continuation of above ( this post had the most detail I could find on the "last sighting of Firiona Vie" ) :

"The Dark Messenger

By the flickering light of a gilded lantern in Felwithe, a slender high elf quietly sat on her bed in a lavish room with walls of marble. She carefully wrapped her robe around her body for warmth and drew her knees to her chest. For a good while she stared into the flitting shadows on the wall with sullen eyes. She began to rock back and forth, trying to ease the ache of her heart."

Lots more! Minutes later, golems move into the city taking up defensive positions while dark elves roam the streets.

The events which happened across servers this past night permanently changed the zone of Firiona Vie. It is now occupied by the forces of evil and any good characters should be wary of approaching the city as they will not be welcome.

[emphasis mine]

==========================================

EQ Live Lore Search for Firiona Vie

==========================================

The Kidnapping of Firiona Vie quest.

=========================================

Just something interesting I found a dev post on EQ Live while doing my research:

"As an earlier poster pointed out, Lanys does indeed live in EverQuest in Hate. I was responding to that statement.

The EverQuest RPG books and stories are as unique as EQ2 and EverQuest lore. The RPG books are based on the same principles and background as EverQuest, but branch off from our storylines in ways we don't support in our MMORPG. EQ RPG books are resource materials for a different game, essentially. That is why you'll see some story inconsistencies between EverQuest Live and the RPG materials.

Also, as far as responding to all of the questions and suppositions on this board, I will say that I can confirm or deny obvious facts and errors, but we won't give away hard facts about lore that hasn't been discovered by the players or is deliberately vague and open to interpretation.

Lore isn't always about facts. I see more interesting threads about what people think may have happened or what they want to believe happened. That's how a lot of history is. That is how EverQuest is. Different races in our game view history in different ways. If we define the facts so clearly, we lose the richness of interpretation altogether. However, if someone suggested that dark elves were actually descendents of Mayong Mistmoore, I'd tell that person that he or she is incorrect.

And, in just about every case where a question is asked on this board, there are community experts that answer the questions before I get a chance to. Some of our players are very informed about lore and it always amazes me.

Best wishes,

Vahlar

EQ Designer"

===========================

Message Edited by Jaymist on 07-24-2006 12:13 PM

The War with Lanys T'vyl happened after EQ2 was released, which means it doesn't apply.

Before Omens of War came out, the last time we heard about Firiona Vie was that she was still in Felwithe.

OOC: According to what I understand, until the war of Lanys T`Vyll, there had been no word from Firiona, hence why the wars with the elves raged on. There were a few GM events that took place, I believe, where Firiona was supposedly rescued. But I don't think there was any written lore to put back-bone to this fact. It came as a suprise to me when they announced that.. she had been sitting in Felwithe all along. :smileyindifferent: , completely invalidating the reason the wars took place upon Kunark for the length that they did But no, the elves never formally apologized to the Empire of Cabilis :p
