Is it too much grasping at straws or tidbits of lore that this occured to me today? I was reading over the tome of destiny and I caught this little part...<i>The gods began to leave the chambers, but Quellious lingered. She noticed as Rallos approached Cazic-Thule and began to whisper something to him, and watched as Solusek Ro did the same to Brell.</i>It made me think back to my trips into the Peacock Club after I finished the quest line, where you speak to a dwarf who is ''of the Black Sun Sea'', a realm deep underground, in the Underfoot....did Solusek and Brell go in on some deal to create a sanctuary for them hidden away?<div></div>

<DIV>There's absolutely nothing of mention of The Black Sea located deep underneath the continents and surfaces of Norrath other than what that dwarf mentions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And from what he said, it's an actual sea with water and stuff located in a vast underground cave that spans underneath all the continents, as if the first area of liquid molten earth right beneath the Earth's crust.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't think that this was something just suddenly created recently.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, this is all speculation, because as I mentioned, that dwarf is the one and only mentioning of it's very existance.</DIV>

Maybe we will find out more as we find more sanctuaries like the Peacock Club.</div>

<P>Zazoo tends to talk too much when he is filled with fine ale... well, any ale will do, but grogs from the depths of his homeland are his favorite pastime. This mighty dwarf comes to us from parts unknown, but I doubt they will remain unknown now that he has arrived. His relationship with the League of Freethinkers may be revealed a bit further down the road, not yet, but someday soon.</P> <P>/ooc Zazoo is a character we have always wanted to add to Norrath. His origin goes back to the Owlbear Slayers of Greyhawk, a small adventuring party that has seen the likes of Mayong and Sir Lucan.</P>

Sounds like a good number (all?) of the mortals that have become near-gods (Mayong, Lucan, Antonia, etc...) all started out as characters in someone's home D&D campaign. <div></div>

<DIV>Neither Antonia or Lucan are "Near-gods"....</DIV>

<blockquote><hr>Cusashorn wrote:<div>Neither Antonia or Lucan are "Near-gods"....</div><hr></blockquote>You're taking the phrase too literally.  I meant those who are so powerful (at least in the EQ2 respresentation) that no character would be able to kill them on-one-on, perhaps not even a group or more.  I realize that Lucan was a killable mob in EQ1, but he seems to be a different being in EQ2. <div></div>

I did not mean it in such a literal sense, more implying that the name is symbolic for a diety's patronage.<div></div>

If you killed him, you then had to kill his lich "skeleton" form. I soloed him many times just passing through lol. </div>
