Everyone,

I'm a 70th weaponsmith on my server (Lucan d'Lere), and I have noticed recently that whenever I get a request, regardless of tier, for an excetutioner axe, it's almost always for a Shadowknight. I know it very well could just be for the name of the weapon, or the look, but is this axe somehow tied to SK's and/or Innorruk? I do get a fair amount of dark elves asking for them. (And as OOC requests, IC I wouldn't sell to a SK, being a pally. <winks> But I do admit to only being IC about half the time too)

Well, the Executioner's Axe was a powerful weapon in EQlive, and will probably most deffinitly be a Heritage Quest if Guk ever ends up being introduced into the game.

The undead frogloks in Lower Guk were cursed by Innoruuk..

No real connection per say BUT

As a SK I can say that our base agro is poor

The STR AP line has an agro buff skill

The STR line also has several skills that require an Axe

As such any SK/Pali wishing to use the Haste skill in the STR line while oftanking will need a big ol' axe so why not a cool looking one?

Well here is an interesting picture for you guys to take a look at. Below is my SK wielding a nice Cobalt Executioner's Axe and strangely enough if you look closely a face appears.

This Face I have belived to be Zek the god of battle or war, or the diety of war whatever his name maybe.

I always thought that was a Dwarf's head that the blade was designed after. Could be Brell, probably.

Although yes, it is a nice heavy hitting weapon, and not too bad looking, at least from fifth tier on up.

To completly digress, tier 7 doesn't have the 1h Flamberge for handcrafted, and I'm guessing/assuming that with LU24, since they will be making other tiers match tier 7 as to both how things can be crafted and in general what can be crafted..well...the 1h Flamberge may soon see it's demise. Do suggest, even if just as a dress/show weapon, if you like the look, that you have one made, even if just as a common dress weapon.

Executioner's Axe was Warrior only in EQ. It's probably people picking things with stereotypical evil roleplaying items/names, like how there are a million assassins. The people picking the EXE axes are probably just people thinking its cool to use one. I bet if you could craft scythes, they would opt for that.
