Lore wise, does anyone know anything about the Plane of Hate? I know it was a gothic style city, but I am curious about the districts themselves and what was there since the plane will feature in one of the chapters of a fanfic that I'm planning.

The Undead, mostly. Zombie Monks, Skeleton Drakes, Some Vampires, Gargoyles, Some "chosen" Darkelves. The Plane of Hate is also broken up into 4 levels, if I remember correctly. If I still had my EQ1 account, I'd go there and check it out some.

For your fanfiction - the Main thing to remember about the Plane of Hate is that it influences people towards hatred. Everytime you go there you would get an Emote every 5 minutes or so telling you how angry you were becomming. The lore of hte place says that only the most tranquil of people can resist the planes influence.

Their was a time when some followers of Quellous (sp) did venture into the plane and they were able to resist it. Innoruuk did something to counter that, but I cannot remember what exactly he did.

Sorry for being of so little help.

All the time I pulled hate I never saw or read any lore describing the areas of hate. we always named the areas by the type of static mobs you would encounter there. theres only 2 places i can recall that had any kind of proper name, the organ hall and the church but i believe these were player given names cuz i dont recall anything stating them as such. its been many years though. hate was redone and i didnt pop back on eq1 at the time and check it out but it didnt look any different to me. the only thing that changed that i saw was the mobs had reduced aggro radius to make it more like the newer planes where multiple groups could operate in the plane without a raid. its been so long and there were changes to the zone so i dont think id be much help but there is a spot of info in this forum that speaks of how Inny corrupted king and queen thex. it speaks of the guards that eventually turned into body guards of the respective king or queen. i vaguely remember it speaking of the areas in which they were housed but nothing like what you are looking for. it may give you enough info and you can create your own districts from it.

Originaly you could only access Plane of Hate by being ported by a wizard, who would need a certain stone on him one for each trip up.

It was a raid zone for a long time rare nice, well nice at the time armors dropped for different classes i.e. indicolite armor I think it was for the warriors.

Many years later they added an NPC in Plane of Tranquility who would sell you a trip to Hate. By then the whole zone pretty much was revamped (designed).

Since the level cap had been raised technicaly and the zone was revamped small groups and or solo'ers could go in and kill.

There where many named boss's for the zone one of the more rememberable ones is Maestro.

http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=6413

He was a vampire sitting at a piano behind one of the doors, guarded by a giant hand.

Im pulling out the old EQ Atlas for this one. :blows the dust off the pages:But do take note. This was all written before the Plane of Hate was changed and revamped. :smileyhappy:DangersWoe to any traveler who dares enter the Plane of Hate, the astral home to the divine father of spite and malevolence, Innoruuk. Many Teir'Dal have come to the Plane of Hate in hopes of paying homage to their divine father and perhaps glean some knowledge from him in exchange for their undying devotion, only to find themselves slaughtered at the hands of his merciless minions. The Prince of Hate and his followers hold an unrivaled hatred for all things in the cosmos and wil show neither mercy nor interest in any creature regardless of their intent.Travelers to the Plane of Hate who dare to cross the barrier separating the divine realms from the material are urged to bring with them an army of iron-willed companions of great power and strength.BenefitsLike all of the astral planes that exist within and beyond the cosmos of existence, the Plane of Hate is a maelstrom of divine energy and consciousness tied to the entity that has forged it - in this case the Prince of Hate Innoruuk. As mortal energies penetrate the barrier separating the divine, these realms manifest themselves in a way that can be comprehended and absorbed by the mortal senses. On the other hand, when the divine energies enter the primal world, they become infused with a symbolic nature, arcane nature that is prized by all adventurers. Many relics forged of divine energies have emerged successfully from the manifested Plane of Hate, and it is these rare, unique treasures that have spurred so many heroes and anti-heroes alike into the nethermost reaches of the plane.BackgroundThe realm that has become the common manifestation of the divine energies, presence, and consciousness of Innoruuk is a twisted, dark urban setting encased in towering black walls of sharp, ghastly architecture. A ghastly forest of grand pillars made of black wood and stone spiral down from the ceiling and pierce through the ground. The overall effect is one of confusion and suffocation, making the plane a very disconcerting place for even the bearer of the most evil and malignant of hearts. This plane is inhabited by the most insidious creatures imaginable, including some very powerful undead who are partial to the energies that emerge from Innoruuk's presence within the cosmos.
Plane of Hate was the best raid zone in the entire game back before they revamped it and changed it from a very awesome two-floor zone to a very booooooooring single-floor zone.

Seeing as monks were always the pullers of mobs in the game, I actually made a living as a mercenary for a very short while. I'd pull Plane of Hate for anyone who needed one.
