That if a elf's time is finished that they still go to Takish'Hiz if they are still a devouted follower of Tunare.I do have a few questions though.<b>1)</b> Do any other gods have such places where their followers or created races go after their time is finished?<b>2)</b> Does anyone know any lore about this holy city besides what is mentioned in the Atlas? Perhaps something from the Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansion. I know we did a lot of adventuring into Takish'Hiz there. Maybe something from there could reveal some more about the original Takish'Hiz.<b>3) </b>Not really a question, but more speculation. How did the elves come about naming their mortal city after the holy city. My best guess is the elves who started Takish'Hiz perhaps had one among the populace who had visited the Plane of Growth and suggested naming it after the elven holy city in the Plane of Growth.<font size="3">Just interesting lore for elves, and whomever. <DIV>In Prophecy of Ro (EQ1) Takish-Hiz is revealed again with the help of Karana/Druzil Ro/Tunare.  Once it's uncovered by Karana's winds, Druzil Ro sent people back in time to learn the secrets of the Elddar with permission from Tunare.  Or something along those lines.  Sorry, best I can remember.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, none of this necessarily applies to EQ2, but thought you might be interested.  And here's some more info from EQ1.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=Lore&message.id=10350" target=_blank>http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=Lore&message.id=10350</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>According to EQ lore in general, the first city the Elves lived in was called Takish'Hiz. It was this grand city built in what would eventually be turned into the Desert of Ro. It was here that the first elves lived, and from here that Innoruuk would steal away the first King and Queen of the elves, and torture them and twist them and create from them the first two Dark Elves in existance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm not sure why the entrance to Takish'Hiz would be located in the Plane of Growth, but Everquest Live has since touched up on it's existance with it's rediscovery in the Lost Dungeons of Norrath and the most recent, the Proficies of Ro.</DIV>

<DIV>Question. If the elf in question doesn't worship Tunare, does something that goes against Tunare's teachings or doesn't wish to pass on to Takish Hiz when they die, do they still end up there or do they wind up elsewhere?</DIV>

If I remember well, in EQlive we had an adventure pack like where we could visit ancient burrowed Tak', there were also sand elves in there, don't know if this race is now still alive in eq2...or maybe they turned into undead mobs like in LT.

In the Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansion you could get missions to go into parts of the <u><b>mortal</b></u> city of <a target="_blank" href="http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?zone=189">Takish'Hiz</a>.  Sand elves are not undead. Silent city/Living tombs is NOT Takish'Hiz. Its its own city with its own history. In EQlive expansion LDON you can visit whats left of the city in ruines. And.... In Prophecy of RO you can go back in time and visit the city at its peak as well as the eldar forest in all its glory. Haven't played it but if the pictures posted in the EQ1 website are accurate the forest looks more grand then the city.

<DIV>If I remember right the elves that remained in Takish Hiz and became the sandelves were trapped. As the city began to be swallowed my sand the geomancers fought to drive back the sands and renew the forest. One group of geomancers were in a distant area of the city when the sands covered it. The remains of the elves soon fled Takish Hiz across the city of tears, the trapped geomancers continued to fight to save the city and themselves, not knowing that the city had been abondoned.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Trapped under the sands they begain to starve. As a means of preservation the geomancers started experimenting with turning first beetles, then dogs and finally themselves into sand. They fully meant to regain their original form when they found their way out. However, as time wore on in their sand form the ties to their mortal hearts started to fade and the sandelves lost sight of what they once were.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The whole story is retold in the first few pages of the DoF guidebook I think <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
