I was hoping someone out there might be able to tell me more about the Creation of the orcs. I know that Vallon and/or Tallon created them, and that there ARE female orcs out there, and their absence has something to do with Sullon. I was wondering how they have been multiplying since the absence of the females, and even moreso, what the story of their creation is.

Here is Vhalen's comment on the female of the species:

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=lore&message.id=9334&query.id=0#M9334

The orcs have gotten ahold of necromantic arts they never had before. I think it would be fairly safe to say that the curse on the orcs was lifted around the same time as the curse on the ogres was lifted, and for the same reasons.

Creppie it's just a mad lib.. not appropriate to just copy and paste like that.

That said, Orcs were just created by Rallos Zek just like how he created giants, goblins, and ogres.

He just made them and that's as far as history states.

Thought I remembered reading something, and I found it, I am still hoping Vhalen or another dev can shed some more light on their creation, though.

And although the last two look like they might fit...I don't think that Sullon made the she-orcs immortal...the rest of it looks very plausible. Wish Vhalen would have just given it to us straight.

Anyways, from the L&L book Orc Society:

The orcs are all devout followers of the beliefs of Rallos Zek, but they have been visited by and learned of their direct relation to the god of tactics, Tallon Zek.

Tallon Zek is the first orc, supreme hero, lord of tactics, giver of conquest and it is he who gave a part of himself so that the supreme god of war, Rallos Zek, could deliver the orc race upon the surface of Norrath. Rallos Zek deconstructed Tallon Zek and pulled from him the seeds that gave birth to the orc race.

Through visions and some claim divine presence, Tallon Zek has shared this knowledge with the orcs. The orcs now have temples to Tallon Zek within their empire, while still honoring the true art of war- Rallos Zek.

This question is linked to my research on all the deities of Norrath, right now I'm on Tallon, and was curious if Vallon had anything to do with their creation as well. What inspired Rallos to create the orcs? He had already made giants and ogres, why did he use Tallon?

Rallos Zek, The WarlordHe created Orcs, Giants, Ogres, and Goblins..They used to be humongous, like as big as mountains, and Rallos Zek led themim a great war against all of Norrath in a quest to gain ultimate power. They were succeeding greatly, nobody could stand up to them, they were just too great. The Gods grew very nervous of Rallos Zek's growing power so they cursed the Ogres, Giants, Ogres and GoblinsShattering them into mere fraction of what they once were. So you could imagin how large these creatures wereI would estimate that Goblins were as large as Giants are now, and you can just imaginehow large Giants must have been. Anyway, the Orcs and others all became "mortal" so to speakand they where pushed back and just sort of became regular everydaymonsters I think, now they are nothing special, just distant memories of their huge behemoth ancestors..Hope this helps, a little...
