Does Vhalen happen to know anything about this mysterious new being that we will be facing soon in the world of Norrath? :smileytongue:

Message Edited by TheManInTheBox on 05-24-2006 01:56 PM

I googled "Curt Schilling PH" but I didn't really see anything of interest. I could have missed something though. I can't help but keeping have the words "place holder" pop up in my head though. :smileytongue:

In baseball terminology, 'PH' means "Pinch Hitter". It looks more like a 22nd century Phillies uniform, but he hasn't played for them in years.

See...I just thought the 'P' and the 'H', were the start of the words "PHAT LOOT" that are plastered on that wicked looking breastplate, just in case anyone couldn't tell.
Hmm i know he use to play an Iksar monk in Eqlive cant recall his name tho.

It's not "PH", its 38 in the Human alphabet. Like the number on his uniform.

Message Edited by StaAk on 05-27-2006 02:00 PM

I really do appreciate the fact that this will raise money for a very worthy cause. That's not lost on me.
No I mean the whole "38" thing in the Human Language (how is it possible that there's even a letter for the numbers? I don't see anything about that in the font files..

Not all of the languages have a set of numerals that go with them. Human does though. I imagine Humans just use the same set for letters and numbers, quite different from how English speakers use the Latin alphabet and Arabic numerals.

I whipped up this little chart for now, would be nice to have a whole set of these for translating in-game texts but I'd rather be playing than photoshopping.

(off-topic: Stack knows 24 languages so far and considers himself a bit of a linguist (unfortunately can't get the Freeport tongues without betraying), but I can't seem to find a Human language primer for him. Maybe I'm just blind.)

Supposedly they planned on having Antonian and Lucanic languages for humans before the game went live. The visual languages are still in the game though.

No need to translate, the fonts files are in your game files

LOL, click on that second list one post up and tell me that the font files are sufficient. There's a lot to be found using those font files you point out... which is what we've all been using to unlock all these lovely little easter eggs.

Amusing to say the least.
It's my personal opinion that the PH is simply his number, 38, in the human font, as has been explained above. If you look at it on his armor, it looks much more like the font used for human than it does the normal PH. Also, the reincarnation of him on the docks simply talks about how following either Lucan or Antonia is for mindless sheep, and that only by going solo are you truly free. All he does is talk, it seems, I couldn't get a quest out of him.
