Ok a little background.  I'm a lvl 66 swashbuckling dwarf.  This is my first ever MMO game. Up until recently I treated this game like any solo game I played (ignore the story, since no time was really put into it anyway)  lately I've really started to stop and read the dialog I get in quests and such and am loving it.  Since I've started haunting this thread, about 2 weeks ago, I've enjoyed learning more about whats going on. My problem is this, I'm sure there are holes the side of norrath in my knowledge, is there a central place to go for questions so I don't post questions that "everyone knows that noob"? <div></div>

You and I are in the same boat, I may be a bit ahead of ya though.  Recently I rolled an alt, a sexy little Dark Elf Assasin, and I am....taking...my....time with her.  I've done every single quest I can find at my level ( 7 ), I am reading through every quest dialogue and I am loving it so far.  One thing I can bring to your attention is that some quests seem to be something stupid like..."I need to rest my brother's soul, kill X bear cubs and come back to me with their paws" type quests, i.e. don't really amount to much "plot thickening".  But read through them anyway because then there are quests which give you juicy, meaty details about the history of Norrath, and from there you can come here and search the boards to fill in any holes that the quest might have left. For example, last night the Longshadow Alley quests led me to the Graveyard, where I was told to speak to a Mage of some sort ( I forgot already...lol ) who told me about the Graveyard's history.  The Graveyard of Freeport is actually where North Freeport used to be from EQ1, where the Knights of Truth were.  Long story short, Lucan overtook the area and killed the Knights of Truth and emtombed them there in that graveyard.  Lucan believed that graverobbers would eventually break into the tombs and raise the Knights from the dead in an effort to overthrow Lucan, so it was my job to make sure the tombs were untouched.  I thought it was really cool and it made me look at that zone entirely different then when I was levelling my three other alts there.   Made me want to hang out and find out more, and I didn't check my xp bar once.<div></div>

There are a lot of great lore resources on the web, but the best one I found is here: <a href="http://lorenorrath.free.fr/" target=_blank>http://lorenorrath.free.fr/</a>The site loads up a bit slow, but has some great information on the History of Norrath.<div></div>

<DIV>The lore about the graveyard is fairly new to most of us, since it wasn't really known (although possibly assumed) until very recently (when they did an overhaul on the first 19 levels of character development, redid all the newbie zones, as well as the Isles of Refuge, they did a wonderful job of adding quests in that explain some of the lore of those zones!!  Awesome job guys!).  As someone who has been studying EQ lore since I started playing (when the Kunark expansion came out for EQ), there is no real EQ lore for dummies <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  The best way to fill in the gaps is to ask someone <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  And if you ask here, we all might be lucky enough for Vhalen or another dev to come by and add lore that none of us ever knew before!  Welcome to a whole new side of Everques!</DIV>
