View Full Version : What happened to the D'Abth Bridge?

The D'Abth Bridge in Nektulos Forest is very damaged. But it doesn't look to be because it was in disrepair. It was apparently violently struck. However, there isn't any chunk of Luclin laying around. Is there some story about how the bridge was broken?<div></div>

Most likely a result of the Rending, but it could also have been the result of some destructive magic during the chaos surrounding the torches of forewarning and Cauldron Hollow.  There was a dragoon killed there, just don't remember if we know how.

<DIV>The damage done to the bridge looks recent. I bet it's those rumbleroots that spawn on it for that one quest. every time I run over the bridge I hear the snaping of underbrush beneath me every time.</DIV>

I always thought it was done in the rending, but it could be any of these reasons..

While the rending is a possible cause, none of the other bridges in Nek forest have any damage whatsoever as far as I can recall. Which is why I am so curious.<div></div>

<DIV>Although D'Abth Bridge was the location of the bloody last stand of Lord T'Velk, defending against the overwhelming force of Kithicor Rangers, it was not a battle that makes the span what it is today. The bridge is located over a river called the Torrent. The Torrent has alwasy been a violent river, but never more so than after the Age of Cataclysms. The Rending caused much destruction to Norrath, and in particular, the underworlds. Beneath Old Antonica rests one of the larger under-continents known as Subtunaria. Subtunaria took great damage and much of it collapsed, causing greater catastrophes above ground, (The Shattered Lands.) It was at this time that the Torrent became much more violent. As the volcanic regions to the north of Nektulos began to spasm, a flood of timber, boulders and creatures were caught up in the bloated river. Down the violent flow the screaming debris went... SMACK into one of the first obstructions in the way-D'Abth Bridge. The waters subsided and the bridge, though badly damaged, still stands to this day. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do any of you know where the north bridge gets its name?   </DIV>

If my memory serves me correctly, Corporal D`Abth patrolled Nektulos Forest during the Age of Turmoil and perhaps beyond. He was always in the way... And a very confident dark elf at that... He certainly kept the dark elven clerics busy after a certain Iksarian Knight passed through <Chuckles> <div></div>

We ever figured out where that door at the top of nektoulous zone leads to? Past the knightfall giants. O how i miss the big giant models.

I recall a named Dragoon called D'Abth in EQ1 who roamed Nektulos and helped protect the younger dark elves from dangers... oh and gave those who wanted to lower their Neriak faction a good chance to do so by killing him.  But it has been so long since I played.

There was also a building in Neriak, an inn I think, called the House of D'Abth, in Neriak Commons opposite the warrior guild hall.

Alot of funky things lurk in the Underfoot. Who knows what Bristlebane left floating around under there before he and the other gods went to the Bahamas (Sorry for the spoiler, but the Undead Zombie Dragon Pirates of the Caribbean expansion info got leaked a few days ago). Heck, by now even the Coldain Dwarves could have chewed their way back to Norrath.<p>Message Edited by SirTower on <span class=date_text>05-16-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:28 AM</span>
