<DIV>Templars are the preachy "Oh you don't want to embrace the word of god? That's ok, i'm sure you'll find your own path to paradise in the afterlife"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Inquisitors are the "If you don't bow to the will of Cazic-Thule he'll [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] you to eternal hell" And then if they don't give in to the Inquisitor's faith, the Inquisitor tortures them until they die or give in.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Needless to say, Inquisitors are much more common in the history of Earth.</DIV>

Our job isn' t to convert non belivers to our faith.  Why would we want followers that are not smart enough to see our god is the one they should follower?  Instead, our role is to weed out those that are only paying lip service.  You know the ones I'm talking about.  They only show up to the temple on All Cazic Thule day. <span>:smileywink:   We are also on the constant lookout for those that would betray from within and cause harm.  We are very efficient and enjoy our work.  Plus the medicale package is great, and talk about the retirement package.  Sitting at the right hand side of your god for enternity?  Oh yeah!  <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span></span><div></div>

From the manual in pdf in your game folder :InquisitorInquisitors are zealots who relentlessly advance their religious doctrines and accept no compromises in their beliefs. Skilledhealers, they minister to the body while seizing control of the soul. From the knowledge database eq2 official website :InquisitorInquisitors are fanatics of their religion, unmoving and uncompromising in their beliefs. They cast healing and protective spells to aid those whom they coerce to follow their cause.Hence their spells name Zealotry, Fanatic Faith, Flagellant, Heretic... <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>Well on a serious note Inquisitors are mercilous people that have been mentioned in many a history book.  I haven't read much about them but have heard of notorious exploits about them and what they do to people.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Inquisitors as my understanding are people who are undoubtedly Zealots advancing their own faith, cause, and Beliefs.  They will go to extrem measures to do this even to the point of torturing a person who is converted to them and breaks their rules.  Inquisitors are also notorious for extracting information from people at their chosing having little fear of doing so except if they anger their leader/religious order.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In game from what I have seen they are powerful healers that do posses some of the same abilities/spells as Templars however they do prosses other dark arts from their enlightened counter-parts so to speak.  Inquisitors are not to be trifled with because they will smite the snot out of you if you do not obey them. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As to what god they may worship it is hard to say since they are healing however do use dark arts again opposed to their goody goody Templarian brethern.  Cazic-Thule is a fitting diety since he instills fear in his subjects but they could also worship Zek the god of war as it were.</DIV>

<DIV>Stolen from posts I made previously (<A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=14&message.id=6880#M6880" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=14&message.id=6880#M6880</A>):</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Post 1</DIV> <DIV> <P>Well, let's see if I can offer some suggestions. <STRONG>Much</STRONG> of this is just theory so don't be confined by it.</P> <P>Inquisitors have been described in a very cookie cutter way as religious fanatics intolerant of other belief systems. I would recommend becoming religious IC, and know exactly how you beliefs motivate you. Begin to look for lore you can throw at others if they question your beliefs (though perhaps the most fun can be convincing someone of something you have no evidence for <IMG height=16 src="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif" width=16 border=0> ). It has been said they rigorously persecute those of differing religions.</P> <P>A book in the game from Qeynos discusses inquisitors interrogating a militia captain for betraying the city. Inquisitors may not be solely based on religion, but perhaps also politics or an organization.</P> <P>Inquisitors resistance buff offers more resistance against mental damage than divine. This is even stated in the description. Inquisitor's strength is probably in their control over the their minds. Not much has been revealed as to how clerics can function when the gods are "silent". Perhaps the inquisitor's main source of power is their own strong faith in what they belief.</P> <P>The healing reactive spells are mainly worded in the sense of a sort of penance or reconciliation. Perhaps the healing is in the sense that your target is healed mentally of their trangressions, thus also causing physical effects. Also, an inquisitor might be compassionate to allies. Or perhaps heal other only to acheive some greater religious end.</P> <P>Some inquisitor damage spells seem to be worded in a sense of mental pains upon the victim. Inquisitors can draw strength from their control over the minds of their enemies. There are also heat damage spells (heat has been considered a powerful torture method). There are a handful of divine based spells as well.</P> <P>Might I suggest taking a look at another post of mine asking how other people are roleplaying their inquisitors. Some inspiration could be drawn from there.</P> <P>Post 2</P> <DIV>I have to agree with the above poster that it does not nessecairily mean one must be an evil cleric. As I mentioned above, a book (<A href="http://lorenorrath.free.fr/read_search.php?link=trialkanebayle&word=inquisitor" target=_blank><FONT color=#c8c1b5>http://lorenorrath.free.fr/read_search.php?link=trialkanebayle&word=inquisitor</FONT></A>) from Qeynos mentions inquisitors.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One of the reasons that inquisitors have such a variety of spells with differing descriptions and bits of information behind them is not to be confining. Although an inquisitor has divine damage spells, one could RP not using them and not having divine connections. An inquisitor could RP not being a healer, an inquisitor could RP not being "inquisitive" and rather just act like a healer fueled by the evil dieties.</DIV></DIV>
