The common wisdom is that the various types of 'Looted Treasures' are just vendor trash and have no other uses that anyone has ever found.

I have no reason to doubt that It is my understanding that yes the only reason for these items was to replace the bizarre VT that existed at the beginning of the game for actual items that sounded like that had worth. But most of these items do have a history in EverQuest live. They did not just add items at random, example a lot of the Jewels that are found are jewels used in spellcraft, jewelry, or as reagents in the first EQ. This enriches the game and really grounds it to the past and Lore, if one stop and considers these items. Some of the looted treasures are literal copies of the originals and some are just implied items that existed. It could also be that these items came about during or as a result of the shattering/rending when they don't directly relate to things in the original.

Because lets face it- vendors who buy things like gnome guts, human bones and bits of hair for several gold pieces either know something we don't, or are very, very, very creepy. Just think what those bartenders/bakers were doing with those things when adventurers still sold them. On second thought... I'ld rather not. :/

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is for some of the looted treasures to have an actual game use, if "repaired" by a crafter. Imagine making the small kerran doll into a hex doll for instance. Or even an item one could hold in the "symbols" slot. Or even if it had no 'stats", to have it be something someone can actually hold for RP purposes (Hey, we've got an Iksar in my guild who's playing a hatchling, she's always gnawing on a little Kerran doll. )

Obviously using the toy doll as an example of one of many items that might be 'repaired" or "modified" into an ingame use.

Accually at one time Rares that Drop from MoBs(like Ebon). Where "old Worn out Iteams" the problem was that it was hard to figure out that some of these iteams where accually used for crafting and as shuch alot of people Vendored them or sold them to players for WAY less then they where worth.

You don't mean you get AXP when you SELL the item for status, do you? You just mean when you loot it for the first time?

The personal status items, (relics, amulets, documents, and scrying stones), give you AA exp when you loot them (the first time only), like any other looted treasure. The difference being of course, that you can 'sell' them for personal status points each time you acquire one. But the AA exp you only get the first time.
