<DIV>Ok, I play a main on a Normal Server. Every so often however i get these urges to roleplay and bring the eq lore into my character and his world. So, I made a player on a Antonia Bayle and the first thing I see when my character gets into the world, roughly ressembled "Hey who wants to go to the cave and kill that chick." It reminds me just like a normal server except there is the occasional person I see who is roleplaying. Is Antonia Bayle the only server like this or what? I would really like to band together with adventurers who understand the lore and roleplay as we delve into a dungeon hoping to find treasure along the way not 'group and go find phat l00t' </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Can someone explain to me if there is a certain way to find people who actually roleplay  or if Lucan D'Lere is a better roleplaying server (and that roleplaying tag doesnt always show the real roleplayers...).</DIV>

There's a pretty good RP community on LDL, but you really have to know where to look.  The LDL forum has a list of ongoing RP events, so those are the best place to start if you do decide to roll a toon there.  Unfortunately, the majority of players DON'T actively RP, and (as I've found out in a very personal way recently) want people who DO to keep it to themselves.  Personally, I haven't the faintest idea why someone who has no interest in RP would even play on a RP server.  *shrug*

AB is the same way.  We have a very healthy RP community with events, RP groups, spontaneous RP in a variety of locations, etc.   There are some stickied posts on the server board with events and RP guilds listed.  Like the last poster said about LDL, you just have to look around a bit and get  in touch with the other RPers.

Lucan D'Lere is good. The best roleplaying community I have come across, oddly enough, is on the Venekor PvP-RP server. My guild, Shadow Guard, has a very large and very active presence in the community. The server itself isn't really old enough yet for all the levelling rush to have settled out to make way for regular (public) RP events, but roleplaying within guilds is still very strong. If you're into PvP (which, in my experience, makes PvE play seem extremely boring when one returns to it), check out Venekor.

"Hi, my name is Wizzel Cogcarrier Wizzleton IV and I'm a roleplayer."In unison, dull voices: "Hi, Wizzel."

Unfortunately what Mary said was true, you have to find the RPing, it will not find you.  Untill you actually are at server RP events or (luckily) find an RPer or two in a group, the RPing will be sparse.  Another good suggestion is find a RPing guild.  This opens up more options, as it is easy to communicate with guildies and a good RP guild means that you'll almost always have someone to RP with.  Whats more, if your the same level range, you can form groups and roleplay while out and about.... who knows what will happen? <div></div>

<P>If you want, look me up on the AB server. (Mysidia Drakkenbane) I'll role-play interact with you. </P> <P>And the above poster had it down. Sometimes, you're just looking in the wrong places for interaction. </P>

If you are looking for guaranteed, fantastic Roleplaying on AB with LOTS of other roleplayers, make a stop by the Eencey Spider Tavern on a Tuesday night sometime between 8:30 or so EST and 10:30 (it often goes later, but the people there at midnight are usually the ones involved in very specific conversations with others as opposed to ones there to network and meet people).  Its a fantastic player-run tavern, arguably the most successful on the server.  Its located at 13 Tranquil Way in South Qeynos, listed under Brosha.

Can someone kinda give me an "beginners" idea of the concept within EQ2? I have played RPgames a few times many many many years ago and I kinda get the idea. But I'd like to know what it'sreally all about. I mainly solo within EQ2 and I'm finding I'm becoming bored with the getting XP and leveling.Probably because I don't group as much anymore. I have to say, not many people roleplay in public, but the roleplaying guidls are amazing on Antonia Bayle at least... VAGABOND KNIGHTS!

<P>Not enough people RP in public, it's true. I'm guilty of it myself, I think it comes from being harassed by non-RPers just plain too after. It's a sad state of affairs... but it's the truth.</P> <P> </P> <P>As for level of RP I'd highly suggest AB over LDL. Just a look at the offical forums would tell you that. I played on LDL for three months and had very little events that I found, or random RP. A month on AB I've had seven hardcore RP guilds to choose from, three wonderful RP nights in three different Inns, a stop at a bakery and a blasted WAR with hundreds of players. </P> <P>The best way to find RP is to join an RP guild, specially on AB where I've found that the RP guilds really work well together, know and respect each other and activly try to promote RP events and storylines in both cities. I'm really happy to be here ^^</P>

<P>Sadly a lot of the role playing guilds on LDL moved to PvP.  We did.  We were Shadow Guard/Obsidian Hand on Lucan D'Lere. I  think only 4 or 5 of our members did not move to Venekor when it opened.. and most of them moved on and joined other guids, not wanting to lug around a dying tag under their names.</P> <P>Venekor has hope, being the server that was flooded when the first US PVP server, Nagafen, could hold no more.. so they opened Venekor mentioning breifly it was RP PVP.  Finally giving it a real RP PVP tag on the character creation screen several days later.  On Freeport side we have at least 3 role play guilds going on.  Ours, surprisingly, is the largest at the moment with over 200 members.  Qeynos (who is the underdog in numbers currently) has at least 4 role playing guilds.  Once the communities mature I am sure we will see many more RP events and the spreading of our RP "virus" among those who could care less.  But we are there.. oh yes.</P>

<P>My best reccomindation is to call up all your old AD&D buddies, strap some tinfoil to your head, make some foil chaff and run around screaming "Lightning Bolt!" over and over again. </P> <P>     When I saw that video clip I nearly pee'd myself laughing.  If you want role play, keep it in the bedroom where it belongs.</P><p>Message Edited by vikingthug on <span class=date_text>05-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:58 AM</span>

I used to stand-up and RP with the community, until somone decided to get hostile with me... After that i never RPed in gobal or ooc again. Wasn't just once either, it kept happening from different people. It does get discouraging, but I still RP in either local /say or guild. I think best advise i can offer is don't try the cheesy old english " Hail how art thou?" many just see that and auto think (newb). otherwise, RP to have fun. Its the only reason I role new characters anymore is to try a new aspect of RPing.<div></div>

I am a RP'er.. and I play on Lucan D'Lere and I come across alot of active rp'ers.. part of the problem is just like in eq1,... you get alot of people who dont join a rp server to rp.. they join whatever server just because lol.. And the non-rp'ers seem to think its fun to haress the rp'ers... not sure what is supposed to be so cool about that.. I can tell ya one thing that seems to weed out some non rp-ers.. I bury my ooc's in a window I cant see rofl... ALOT of the actual rp'ers tend to not use ooc channel much and use shouts more often as a rp use.. I also have little tolerance for the ignorance of alot of the non-rpers on the rping servers.. so I just /ignore most of em to save myself the frustration of their spam and idiocy lol.. There are alot of rping guilds on both AB and LDL... but I can say from bumpin into some people... watch out for some peoples ideas of "RP'ing"... some people scare me lol.
