A Human who Brell thought was Nagafen?

That would sound more like Zordakalicus Ragefire instead. :p

Well don't forget now Darathar had the ability to change to a human form which was the sage of ages. So it is quite possible that nagafen would go to the bar. However there is 1 tiny little detail that maybe prove this to be false. I believe nagafen and vox were seperated and bound to the places that they are currently in right now. This was done by the "Ring of Scale" *I think thats it* to prevent 2 elemental type dragons from mating so they did not create a prismatic dragon.

However Nagafen maybe so powerful he could temporarily leave his home by opening a rift to the bar of brell for a nice drink :smileywink: . Maybe valen can give us some little hints here to see if this is possible.

It's cool to wonder if the NPCs in the bar of brell are much more powerfull entities in disguise, one thing I was a touch disapointed about was that there are very few NPCs in there without generic names. Without logging to see, I can think of: the quest giver, the barman in the first instance and then the farmer and the barman in the second instance - oh and also the bouncer as having names, the rest where "a ...". Would of been much more room for speculation had there been some more unique NPCs thrown into the mix.

I remember that post and if I recall correctly, Blackguard said that it was really not Naggy, yet the person (or entity) Blackguard believed was Naggy was amused by Blackguards thinking (and feeling of self importance) and let Black continue to think this way and would occasionally antagonize him by pretending to be Naggy and having mock battles with Black in Qeynos (believe there were screenshots taken somewhere).

Not editted for spelling or grammar cause in a rush at work atm ;p

Yeah, it wasn't really Nagafen, since he can't actually leave his domain. It would be very cool if the Bar of Brell was the same place he was talking about. According to the story:
Qeynos and Freeport. Not lame.

And to clarify that part of my poem I was spouting, since it looks like I'm calling Qeynos and Freeport lame (Note that when I refer to "Blackguard" in the third person, it's because I'm talking about the in-game persona of Blackguard rather than myself):When it's Frostfell timein Qeynos and Freeport,I head ashoreand dock at the port.During this seasonFreeport seems less evil.It occurs to methey act more like people. So me as a pirate,I am naturally mean.Since both are so cheery,It's fine to be seen

At the port of Sir Lucanor a Qeynos village.I don't have to goto loot and pillage.I only enjoy Qeynosonce a year, when Freeport is filledwith holiday cheer. It's not like they're different, they're much the same. And by much alike,I mean very lame.

Blackguard thinks that people being happy and cheery is lame. Since people in Freeport are similarly cheery to Qeynosians in Frostfell, he considers both to be equally lame (thus contradicting himself, as it's the only time of year he enjoys being in either city greatly... old softy).

Lord Nagafen Wasn't There

For all you lore nuts out there, I have some more to tell you about the little story of Blackguard we have here. Blackguard, the avatar, believes himself a deity of the sea. He thinks he has access to "planes" that he gets to using a magical coin he once plundered (from a deserted island, mind you).

The truth is, it in fact sends him to a mystical tavern somewhere in the ether where others even more powerful than he sometimes stop in. He has it in his head that one of the people within, who looks like a Human, is Lord Nagafen (a perception he obtained while drunk in this very tavern many years ago).

Blackguard is somewhat of a joke in this Tavern of the Ether, although everyone likes him despite his claims that he's a vicious pirate (the fact is, he's not vicious at all and has never killed or pillaged without being first provoked, but they let him think he is a dominant persona of the high seas because he's harmless).

So this Human, whose name is not truly known (which also lead to Blackguard's belief that he was Lord Nagafen, not knowing himself that Nagafen is imprisoned), decided he would entertain the idea once a year by "dueling" Blackguard.

This duel is a roundabout game of trickery, in which Blackguard is unaware that he is being fooled himself. What happens? The Human, thought to be an incredibly powerful illusionist, transforms himself to look like Nagafen and accepts Blackguard's challenge. Blackguard thinks he lets "Nagafen" win the duel in order to boost the old dragon's confidence. The truth is, the mysterious Human is making Blackguard think that he is letting the dragon win, and pretends not to know it is the case.
This web of untruths allows Blackguard to believe he is being a generous and kind man once a year, during Frostfell time. It's all a little silly. Fake pirates, mages making themselves appear as Nagafen, and whacky snowball fights. But it's what happens when such times come about in Norrath. Even false scourges of the sea are willing to mingle with the landlubbers for a while.

So is Darathar a prismatic dragon or was he just not sealed. I could understand him being prismatic since you get the prismatic weapons as a quest reward after killing him and the fact that he's the strongest dragon from the original launch...

Message Edited by ElctSocket on 04-18-2006 04:09 PM

You get the weapon from nagafen after he allows you to keep the broken parts of the egg you attempted to recover. I do find it interesting though about the back and forth decit that goes on with blackguard thinking about himself in a high manor.
