<div>Is there a connection between Varsoon and Everling? Perhaps they both belonged to the same secret society or something? It seems like there are severeal in-game clues that suggest that but I do not remember seeing anything that stated it explicitly.</div>

<div>Not that I've ever noticed, but then again there's not much known about Varsoon or Everling themselves, as they're still deeply shrouded in mystery.</div>

<div></div><p>There is a link.</p><ul><li>Varsoon the Undying is refered to as "the Creator" on numerous occasions</li><li>"The Creator" is coincidently the name of the puppeteer of the Obelisk of Lost Souls.</li><li>Everling's Nektropos Castle contains technology which can also be found on the third floor of the Obelisk of Lost Souls.</li></ul>

<div>I'm not really up-to-date on Varsoon lore, but isn't he Al'Kabor? Or at least closely related lore-wise?</div><div> </div><div>Anyway, the sentient Cauldron of Al'Kabor is found in the hidden room off of Lord Everling's library. I think there was some connection between them in the quest that this Cauldron gives.</div>

<div></div><p>I found this quest the other day, "Creatures of the Creators Creature Cataloging" (text from eq2.ogaming.com):</p><p>You must catalog the following monsters in Nektulos, Nektropos and Ruins of Varsoon:- I must find an eidolon watchdog - Nektropos Castle- I must find a loam cyst - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find a living clay - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find a mindless spinner - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find an enchanted tome - Nektropos or Varsoon- I must find a claychanter - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find a thought engineer - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find a clay crawler - Ruins of Varsoon- I must find an obsidian gargoyle - Nektropos Castle- I must find an attendant of Everling - Nektropos- I must find a dark patron - Nektropos- I must find an Everling manservant - Nektropos- I must find a house everling jester - Nektropos (Game Room)- I must find a Patchwork Fleshripper - Nektulos- I must find a necropolis scavenger - Nektropos</p><p>In the Chamber of Immortality, Varsoon summons a Lamia (succubus; aren't they connected to Nightbloods?) and Shadowmen to defend himself. Does this suggest another link to the Obelisk of Lost Souls (and the Creator within)?</p><p>I believe the secret society I was referring to earlier was a group of powerful people seeking a path to immortality. Perhaps they were seeking a method, with the Creator's help, to build a living entity (hence all of the golems) then transfer their souls into it?</p><p> </p><p>Message Edited by DeathMutant on <span class="date_text">03-24-2006</span><span class="time_text">03:11 PM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Ah, [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. I just remembered the Creatures of the Creator, then came back here and saw you had beat me to it. Full text:</p><blockquote dir="ltr"><p>Some of the creatures found in Norrath today were created by mages for various reasons. In particular, these creations can be found in and around Nektropos Castle in Nektulos on D'Lere or within the Ruins of Varsoon in Antonica on Karan.Nektropos Castle is the former home of Lord Rikantus Everling and is located within dark woodlands of Nektulos. The Ruins of Varsoon are in what was once called the Keep of Immortality in Antonica. It is interesting to note that despite the cataclysmic events of the past few hundred seasons, both D'Lere and Antonica have ancient keeps with their unfortunate inhabitants.Externally, Nektropos Castle and the Ruins of Varsoon enjoy (if that can be said) the same weather patterns as the regions in which they are located. Internally, the air within these ancient buildings remains charged with the mystic energies of their former owners. Though dark and occasionally damp, they are both remarkably well-preserved.Flora within these structures is limited to lichens, which form on the stone surfaces on the northern and eastern interior rooms. As the structures are enclosed (or nearly completely underground, as with the Ruins of Varsoon), light is diffused or nonexistent. Fungi grow in organic litter on the lowest floors of these buildings.Constructed creatures are generally considered part of the "golem" family of creatures, regardless of their outward appearance. However, magical constructs also exist and can include mundane objects such as books or statues that will reanimate only upon being disturbed. That makes travel through the Ruins of Varsoon and Nektropos Castle particularly dangerous, as potentially anything could be a dormant creature.</p></blockquote><p>I <em>did </em>contribute something substantial. So there! Up yours, you faster thinking... something.</p>

<div>Ok, I must be confusing him with Varsoon because of their similar quests for immortality, etc, and the mention of both in the Strange Black Rock HQ.</div>
