<div></div><div>Ohhh. Was that it? I never went there personally, my guild was in love with that zone for some weird reason. I totally forget its name though. Wasn't it with a C?</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Veksar?</div><div> </div><div><strong>VEKSAR: Shortly after the Shissar were run out of Kunark, a resort by the name of Veksar was built by the Kylong Iksar Tribe. After standing upon a lake in the middle of Kunark for nearly 1,000 years, Veksar was destroyed by the dragon Garudon, and sunk to the bottom of what is now known as the Lake of Ill Omen. Now beneath the surface of the lake, Veksar is inhabited by sealife and the spirits of those killed in the incident. It is said that the spirit of the dragon Garudon also resides somewhere in the ruins. Only few adventurers who have chosen to trespass in to Veksar's confines have been able to return to tell about it. (Allakhazam)</strong></div><div><strong></strong> </div><div>That's the only lore i could find on it. Nothink about Zeb :-S</div><p>Message Edited by Kindayr on <span class="date_text">03-18-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:18 PM</span></p>

<div></div>well i remember when they implemented that place, they made it sound halfway like it was the city that worshipped zeb, and halfway like it was just some random place. if i could remember anything id try and find this, but my memory of it is just to vague

<div>It didn't matter what the city was, because Zeb himself didn't care if anyone worshiped him or not. Why should he care? Everything is all dust in the wind. HIs apathy meets no bounds.</div>

<div>why does Zebuxoruk have worshippers, if he really does not care about them, and thus does not offer them any incentive to worship him?</div>

<div></div><div>somewhere in eq1 lore it talks about him just not caring if people worshipped him. I guess people worshipped him because they were outcasts and maybe thought that he would change his mind and offer some kind of power to these people.</div>

<div>It clearly states that no one worshipped him, they only honoured him. And it also states that he doesn't mind them honouring him, but he could care less.</div>

It's so true.<span><blockquote><hr>Cusa wrote:<div></div><p>It didn't matter what the city was, because Zeb himself didn't care if anyone worshiped him or not. Why should he care? Everything is all dust in the wind. HIs apathy meets no bounds.</p><hr></blockquote></span>Where is the logic in that? We have a reliable document citing the existence of a city full of fallen paladins and the like, all of whom honour Zebuxoruk, and your response is that we shouldn't care where it is because Zebuxoruk wouldn't?<span><blockquote><hr>Pudaan wrote:<div></div><p>somewhere in eq1 lore it talks about him just not caring if people worshipped him. I guess people worshipped him because they were outcasts and maybe thought that he would change his mind and offer some kind of power to these people.</p><hr></blockquote></span>Consider this: Norrath has, for much of its existence, been a place where the gods had a very real and immediate hand in day-to-day events. If you commited to a certain god, your prayers were answered very frequently, in dramatic ways. That's where cleric's especially gleaned their power (it's arguable whether they still do; I think the gods either never abandoned them or left behind a sort of sentient wellspring of holy/unholy magic to respond to the requests of clerics while they were away).Anyway, the point is, the "faiths" of Norrath are nothing like the faiths of the real world. As in, there's no real reason to call such things "faith" in Norrath, because there's no question that the gods move and offer power to those who commit themselves. Faith is only necessary when the faithful need to choose to stay loyal, despite lack of evidence or even evidence to the contrary.THIS is the paradigm within which we should view the followers of Zebuxoruk. He does not act on their behalf, he does not watch over them or listen to them. That doesn't mean he's not there, he's just disinterested. So why have faith in Zebuxoruk? Because he <i>symbolizes </i>something that the disgraced and outcast can appreciate -- he symbolizes that there is a real and viable state of neutrality, where you're not forced to pick sides. Combined with this is the very real possibility of redemption, if it was ever required. "If Zebuxoruk only cared enough to choose a side, he could. He just doesn't care." There's power in that, you see? He, indirectly, of course, helps his disciples to see that they remain disgraced and outcast because <i>they </i>choose to. Their fate is not tied to any deity's agenda.Sure, he doesn't offer them "power" on a magical level, but he offers them a philosophy. And in that sense, Zebuxoruk is the most realistic deity in the pantheon.</span></div>

<div></div>In EQOA there was a hidden city.  Forgot the name but it was located in the middle of nowhere with the only access being one tunnel through the mountain into a small secluded vale.  This was somewhere Westish of Runneyeye citadel in the same mountain chain and East-southeast of Moradhim....   Never noticed if there were any fallen paladins or whatnot.. but there was a small dojo in there.
