Two nights ago, the moon in the sky was together and full. last night, it was as if it was breaking in two again. What is the role-play/lore significance of this changing moon?

There are two moons that you can see: Luclin and Drinal. Luclin is the moon that was encased in shadows prior to its Shattering. Drinal is the moon you can see which is still whole.

I just don't remember seeing it until a couple weeks ago, but I could be crazy :smileyvery-happy:

Drinal was the moon you could see from Norrath in EQ1. According to the lore, Luclin was hidden by a "Viel of Shadow" until the shattering.

Here is a neat post about the moons and stuff I ran across under lore. Saw a more detailed on once but couldn't remember the thread. This one has nice images though. May have to post address into browser to get link to work.http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=lore&message.id=4948

Actually I believe you could actually see Luclin from the Plane of Sky in EQ1.

You could see all 5 celestial bodies from the Plane of Sky in Eqlive untill they put in the Direct X 9.0 patch that changed the skies.

Sad too. I wanted them to keep Trorsmang, Anbeal, and Cordain visible.

You could actually only see Drinal from the Plane of Sky in EQ1.

Correction to your Correction: You could see Luclin, Drinal, Trorsmang, Cordain, and Anbeal from the Plane of Sky untill they changed the graphical appearance of the skies across the entire game with the Direct X 9.0 patch in 2003. That very moment, they made the skies more realistic. The Moon and Sun moved through the sky much more fluidly, and the stars gradually appeared as it got dark out. Where-as before, they would "Inch" thier way across pixel by pixel, tick by tick.

Trorsmang, Anbeal, and Cordain were grey, atmosphereless moons just like Drinal is. One of them was a full moon, but Twice the size of Drinal in the sky. One of them was at Half-Wane, so you only saw 1 half of it, and the last was only at 1/8th-Wax, so it was a crescent sliver.

Luclin itself was a multicolored, Ringed planetoid, sort of like Saturn is.

When the DX9 patch happened in May of 2003, those 4 were forever lost into obscurity.
