In a sense the gods have already returned...during the quest in the graveyard for newbies..you get a bee sting from marr. (now if someone could tell me how to add an image without having it hosted..if thats possible..that would be wonderful)<div></div>

You were getting smote by the general aura of believe and faith that the undead knights of Marr had for thier god. They believed in Mith Marr, and you just defiled them, so you just got smote by the order itself, telling you not to mess with them.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Also: open up a photobucket account. it's free.</div>

I like that idea, but it does actually say "Smitten by Mithaniel Marr" not "The spirit of Mithaniel Marr" or "The spirit of Mithaniel's Faithful"<div></div>

<div>I know, I've done those quests, but that doesn't mean you were actually smote by Mith Marr himself.</div>

<div></div><p>Well if it says Mithaniel Marr has smitten you, then thats what the devs meant. If they had meant something else, the text would say something else. Its in black and white. Don't see why people continue to deny it. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>They are slowly re-introducing the lore surrounding the origin of the races and their gods. All the newbie racial quests revolve around them. The npc's in the racial quarters telling you about the gods etc etc. For me its a welcome return to some of the most fantastic lore in the Everquest universe. It was some of the best lore of EQ1 and removing the gods and the majority of racial distinctions was a mistake for EQ2. Personally I am glad they are slowly re-introducing the lore of the gods and eventually I believe they will make a full return in some way.</p><p>The lore of EQ is some of the best written, thought provoking and immersive lore in mmo history. Discarding 75% of it in EQ2 was a mistake and I'm so glad they are bringing back this kind of lore into the world. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<div>Because it's not in black and white. If it was Mithanial Marr, it would have said "Mithanial Marr has Smoten you" instead of "You have been Smote by Mithanial Marr."</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>The placing of his name means the difference between personally and conceptually.</div>

For example, "I have been driven to the shops by friend" is symantically identical to, "My friend has driven me to the shops".</p><p>So sorry, but I'm not following your logic.</p><p>Either way, and regardless of the order of the words, I was smote by Mith Marr. Or Mith Marr has smote me. If that makes you happier. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

I didn't think some leftover energy or his followers beliefs did it, I thought Mith Marr hit me. If they meant for it to mean something else, they ought to have made it much more clear.

<div></div><p>If the message "You have been smitten by Mithenial Marr" isn't clear enough, the quest journal entry after you get that message should be.</p><p><img src="http://img427.imageshack.us/img427/3429/mithenialmarr3gm.jpg"></p>

<div>At any rate, if they were planning on reintroducing the gods back into the game, I just think they would have done it with quests on a more grand scale.</div><div> </div><div>I mean why would the first sign be some newbie quest in the graveyard, which despite that Qeynosians can still do, it would require them to go out of thier way to travel to the Graveyard on the other side of the world.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Why not in Nektulos or Thundering Steppes or one of the other zones that both sides can easily access without a great difficulty of travel?</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>You look at the newbie yard quests in Qeynos and we get nothing even close of that magnitude. Only that the gnolls are becomming more and more adept at using machinery that only gnomes would likely understand.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>In my eyes, I don't think of that as anything significant or even as evidence to say otherwise.</div>

<div></div>To start with something small, and move on to larger events? Who knows. Maybe they aren't going to get involved with Norrath much anymore, or maybe they're slowly coming back.. It could go either way, really.

<div>Yes but why start with something small that only one city can conveniently access?</div>

It may only be "convienient" for FP, but its not exactly hard to get into. There's a gate to the Commonlands in the Graveyard.<div></div>

<font size="2">I took it as - "this is a warning from Mithaniel Marr" rather than "it is Mithaniel Marr"In that quest you are testing a ward to see if it is still working (I think thats how it goes)A ward is meant to protect something and as such it sounds much better saying "Smitten by Mithaniel Marr" coz your first though is "blimey a god, I'd better leg it"It wouldn't do much good if a ward said "Smitten by Apprentice Ward Maker Herbet Smithers, This ward is the property of the Knights of Marr(TM), Patent Pending."A general reaction to that is "pffft, what a wally" - not much good at keeping people away</font><div></div>
