<div>I thought it had to do with the gods leaving way back in EQ1 times. When they were upset that we kept killing them. Sometime after PoP I believe.</div><div>Well, EQ1 has a new expansion coming.</div><div><a href="http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/expansions/prophecyofro/" target="_blank">http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/expansions/prophecyofro/</a></div><div> </div><div>Read that site. One of the main things is that the Gods have returned to Norrath!</div><div>Now I guess it is possible that between that expansion and our time the Gods decided to leave again. </div><div> </div><div>What are everyones thoughts on this?</div>

<div></div><p>Looks to me that it appears they are advancing EQ to the time just before the second Rallosian War possibly. If I have my time lines right, EQ is during The Age of Turmoil right?</p><p>Maybe SoE is thinking of merging EQ with EQ2? </p>

<div></div><p>Whoa!</p><p>This is what happens when you have multiple spin offs on a theme, (EQLive, EQoA, EQ RPg, EQ2), all continuing their separate, (yet related), development; (all from different development teams!)</p><p>I suppose that <em><strong>technically</strong></em> speaking, EQ2 is <em><strong>supposed</strong></em> to have split into a separate time line from EQLive, that this seeming contradiction can be explained away. (although I, for one, have always felt that this 'separate time-line ploy was just a little too much <em><strong>'deux ex machina'</strong></em> for me)</p><p>Even with this (thin) rationalization, I would have thought that the gods would not evolve separately. </p><p>I have a feeling this will not be the last time that this type of thing happens.</p><p> </p><p>PS:</p><p>[I like the direction EQLives's lore seems to be developing more  than EQ2's]</p>

<div>I've said it many times in the past and I'll say it again:</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Everything that has happened after Legacy of Ykesha in EQlive, NEVER HAPPENED in EQ2, Including Prophecy of Ro (although I must admit the story for this expansion does seem really cool.)</div>

<div></div><p>I'm assuming that the new dark force amongst the gods who isn't bound by the rules of the pantheon is going to be Mayong Mistmoore?</p><p>Definitely looks cool, but yeah - the EQ and EQ2 timelines forked at Ykesha.</p>

<div></div><blockquote><hr>Kryussius wrote:<div></div><p>I'm assuming that the new dark force amongst the gods who isn't bound by the rules of the pantheon is going to be Mayong Mistmoore?</p><hr></blockquote><p>No, it's Chuck Norris.</p><p></p><hr><p><strong>A New God</strong></p><p>With the final devastating blow, Chuck Norris' blood spread across the enchanted floor of the Chuck Norris Shrine.  In his last breath, the lord of the martial arts issued a promise, "My age begins."</p><p>Finally shedding the remains of his mortal coil, centuries of research and experiments culminated into achieving his life's goal -- to ascend and walk among the gods.  With the last act of unleashing Norris' soul, Norrath's mortals released an evil demi-god among the unsuspecting planes of the pantheon.</p><p>And as Norris' soul completed its metamorphosis, the Demi-Plane of Chuck Norris became fully realized as a crimson realm of death and darkness.  Even Ro's shimmer, the great Norrath sun, was lessened as the martial artist's plane bled through the pantheon, reeling and reforming in ethereal space. </p><p>Norrathians thirst for glory and power -- a reality the martial artist relied on -- brought Chuck to godhood.  For hundreds of years, Chuck laid the groundwork for his own ascension, carefully and purposefully.  He enshrouded himself in mystery and myth, creating an insatiable curiosity in historians and fame hunters the world over.  Few had ever seen the martial artist, but everyone believed in him.  That was crucial to Chuck's designs. </p><p>Most know that the gods of the pantheon are strengthened and empowered by those who revere and believe in them. So, as Norrathians accepted Chuck's invitation to the Shrine of Chuck Norris, they unwittingly acknowledged his power and became disciples who fueled the enchantments that surrounded him and his abode. </p><p>When the last drop of the great martial artist's blood trickled to the floor, the enchantments took on life at his death. The awe of his power and pride in his defeat shown by those who revealed him provided the last ingredient to lift his dark soul into godhood.</p><p>Now, Chuck's cackles resonate through the immortal realm. </p><p>The wise and learned of Norrath share chagrin at this turn of tides in the pantheon, for they suspect what most certainly do not -- Chuck's ascension is but a stepping stone for a larger, more devious plan than any could imagine. Beyond the mortal lands, in a realm of pure magic, a goddess has foreseen a world plunged into darkness and chaos. Worse still, she feels her own kin's suffering.</p><p>And while Norrath's lauded heroes -- Antonia Bayle and Lucan D'Lere -- and their armies remain unfound, the world and its future lie in the hands of those who set the martial artist free.</p><p><img src="http://totalworkout.homestead.com/files/chuck2.jpg"></p><hr>

<div>Maybe from the story said in the begining of EQ2 that as far as MOST norrathians know the gods withdrew their influence and maybe now they are currently influencing the world as we know it but are being VERY secretive.</div><div> </div><div>Example: Who grants the healing when a prayer is said by a cleric in EQ2?</div><div> </div><div>Think on it, sony gives alot to play with, so let your mind explore all posibilities. Hell in some cases they read the forums for ideas...I know a few examples of where they borrowed bits and parts of RPers to make new and interesting lore.</div>

That doesn't mean that god is responding to her beliefs and desires to heal people. It just means that as long as he exists, the cleric can.

The timeline's aren't supposed to have split, they did. it's in game and everything. Go to either of the city libraries and mouse over single books on tables (It's with the Sage you need for the welcome to qeynos quest in Qeynos, just on a table in freeport) until one lights up. This is the Words of Zebboruk. It's a book you can place in your home that says exactly what happened when the timeline split.
